Unlocking Sapphire 6950 Dual Bios Edition to 6970?

I was looking at this non-reference card that advertises itself as having a dual bios function.

Has anybody had any success flashing a 6970 bios onto these cards? Or are the lanes laser cut so we can't unlock the extra shaders?

From the NewEgg feedback comments, it looks like the shaders cannot be unlocked.

Nope. You can get a nice overclock ..should be good. I gain about 4-5 fps. in Crysis with an overclock. Should put it around HD 6970 stock. I fubared a 7950 years ago. No flashing for me since. Not enough risk/reward.

I received one of those MSI a week and a half ago, shaders still unlocked.

Couple of things:

1) There is no such thing as "AMD laser cutting the chips". Then again, if you repeat a lie long enough people start believing it.
2) You can unlock ANY reference or non-reference Radeon 6950 with any amount of RAM if you know what you're doing. The only thing preventing most of the recent ones is a BIOS flash lockout which can be easily overcome by the guide I posted here: http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1621938
The only thing out of your control is the luck of having a card with a chip that can be unlocked.
