Just came across this with a coworker - Verizon support installed it as part of their suite during a troubleshooting session. Of course they neglected to store the admin credentials, so the user couldn't browse the web on any non-administrator account because they couldn't configure the protection to allow web browsing.
Uninstalling requires the application admin credentials so you can generate an uninstall code. Couldn't get into the app and bounced around verizon & mcafee support endlessly. Finally someone got rid of it by:
Kill UpdateService.exe and mfp.exe.
Delete InternetContentFilter folder in Program Files.
Delete the associated GUID from the installshield folder, then remove from add/remove programs.
Finally, do a netsh winsock reset catalog.
Such a pain in the ass.
