Uninstalling a game completlely clears it correct?

Hello,
I want to begin playing AA:O as well as BF1942 again, but my versions in both games are pretty old :( Instead of finding out what version I have and then trying to get that to the latest version, can I just unstill them, and then download a full install of the newest patch (or full game for AAO). Thanks!

I don't know what version I have though :confused:
And I know it is old, so if it is 1.8 and there is a 2.1 out, I don't want to have to look for 1.8to1.9 and then 1.9to2.0 and then 2.0to2.1. I rather just unistall and reinstall.
 
Try installing the full patch on top of what you have. I think it will work but if not, just uninstall the game. Uninstalling it will remove everything but game saves and the folders.
