Turtle Rock Studios has released a free, albeit unfinished, campaign for the original Left 4 Dead for those of you who want to revisit a classic title. The episode, titled "Dam It," explains how the survivors got from "Dead Air" to "Blood Harvest," the fourth and fifth campaigns.

Left 4 Dead developer Turtle Rock Studios has released its final, unfinished campaign for the zombie shooter, and you can play it right now. All you need is Left 4 Dead and an internet connection to download the files. Co-founder Chris Ashton posted a link to the campaign on the Turtle Rock forums, saying that the studio had "just finished putting the Dam campaign ... into a L4D add-on." "It's gray box, and some code features are missing, but it's playable from beginning to end," he wrote. "It also includes two standalone survival maps that never shipped."
 
There's been a Dam It custom campaign for ages. I wonder how this one is different... Most likely it's worse since it's unfinished.
 
Maybe someone will finish it, and do the quick port over to L4D2. Since the entirety of L4D1 has been officially imported into L4D2 at this point, there is not much point in having the first game installed at all.
