I've been getting some errors with my old Buffalo PC3200 2.5cas stick of ram and I'm tired of 2-3-3-11 at 220Mhz with 3.2v. I've been eyeing out the Corsair PC4000 ram for awhile but the 3-4-4-8 timings always seem to make me run away in terror.

So I was wondering would getting the PC4000 and giving it some volts give me better results than getting a PC3500 or PC3700 stick that comes with the lower timings? If you have any other suggestions that don't include breaking the bank I would be very appreciative.

Maybe.
My ram does 2-3-3-6 @ pc3200 and 2-2-2-5 @pc2700 and below. It is specified as so.
So, make sure the ram you get makes such specification.

It is better the other way around though.

Get a 3200 or 3500 with tighter timings. Then you can losen the timings if you need to achieve higher speeds.
