i have narrowed down to these 2 monitors for my buddy's build, this is his pricerange and wants 1440p ultrawide

My biggest concern is input lag, which is better in that aspect?

Which one would you guys recommend? Or is there a better option at this pricepoint?

Nvidia, and unfortunately the ultrawides with G-sync are out of his price range..
 
Keep your eye open for Dell sales on the u3415w. Last week you could pick one up for 679.99 + 250 dell promo gift card. You could then stack that with 13% ebates + 15% DPA rewards. This worked out to be 680 - 250(promo gift card) - 88 (ebates) - 102 (DPA rewards gift card) = $240 + tax on $680. Granted you have $350 in dell promo gift cards....

Nvidia or AMD? Just asking because if he's using AMD then the Acer XR341CK uses the same panel as the Dell (pretty sure it's a Samsung panel so the S34E90C is probably using the same panel as well)

Dell have IPS panel
Samsung have VA panel
