Hey. I'm considering a 860 Lynnfield, GB UD3 motherboard, 4 GB Ripjaw DDR3 1600 ram. I'm intrigued by this new SATA 6 and USB 3 feature. I know it's essentially the same thing, just newer and more bandwidth. Can any new technology benefit from these standards? Will my Intel G2 80 gb SSD work better? Will it make a SSD raid work better? What usb devices will benefit from USB 3?

No difference unless you get new USB-3 devices and SATA6 drives. And you Intel G2 won't show any improvement because it's SATA3 and won't operate at SATA6 even if it's possible

You have to ask yourself what kinds of products will take advantage of these new connections: USB3.0 will be great for external storage devices, but won't really impact other peripherals. SATA6GBps will only really be useful for future SSD products.

You've already got an X25-M and I'm going to guess that you're not planning on upgrading it anytime soon. Unless you know you need faster external storage devices I'm not sure there's much point.

SATA v3.0... don't believe the marketing hype - it is not SATA6.
