Ubisoft gave us a new Far Cry 5 trailer today at E3. This one showed a bit of gameplay and introduced us to new characters. Far Cry 5 will be available on PS4, Xbox One and PC on February 27th, 2018.

Check out the video.

Only how awful Rural America is with insane supporters of our current president, not all supporters, only the insane ones. Reminds me of the current political scene, the thing is, they didn't even intend for this game to match today's political atmosphere, it simply happened. Read some of the interviews from the game development team, this game has been in the works for longer than our current President has been in office.

Why do I get the feeling this is going to be a heavy handed, spoon fed, plot about how awful America is?
Probably because you're reading into it or projecting.

I thought this US wanted to project this shining city on a hill?

Take it for what it is. A Game. I don't "think" America hating lefties are much into this type of game.

I wouldn't call Putin nor ISIS as lefties. US of A has way more enemies than your domestic audience.

Anyways, let's just wait and see if this game is any good.

I don't know, I think I'll get my fix of dystopian America from wolftenstein II: The New Colossus! That trailer is looking good.

The Fall's End Liberation trailer had me lol.
The biggest threat to the USA has always been internal.

Ubi is just taking Radical Islam, and slapping an American flag over it. And, again, it's funny considering Europe, not America is under siege from radical elements.

Game looks fantastic but maybe they should lose the 'Far Cry' name.

It looks different enough from the rest of the series that it could probably stand on its own and Far Cry is getting a little long in the tooth as a franchise.

Looks pretty promising...I'm hoping for another great installment that lives up to my love for 3 and 4.

Why? First game - tropical, 2nd - African, 3rd tropical, 3 1/2 - 80's sci fi, 4th - Himalayan, 4 1/2 - cave man shit... How does moving it to North America break their streak of new games in new places?

The 2nd had major issues, (those damned respawning check points) so I get heading back to the tropics for FC3, but outside of those issues FC2 was fantastic.

Now to finally get around to playing through FC:primal. I loved FC3 and FC4... (and Blood Dragon) Dammit Ubisoft, I want to hate you for your shit business practices, but I actually like a lot of your games. WTF?

I am not interested in this game. However, I do wish they would continue the story of the first Far Cry game because, personally, I think they just left us hanging.

Far Cry 3 was the pinnacle of the series, no argument. The production value was on a level that they haven't come remotely close to since. While they have the formula to make a nice tight shoot em up, they've had a lot of trouble improving upon most of the mechanics that made 3 such a standout experience. I'm sure this will be a fun experience, after the brutally boring letdown of Primal, regardless if it actually moves the series ahead in a meaningful way. I could probably continue playing cookie cutter rehashes of Far Cry 3 indefinitely to be honest. If you haven't played it lately, go back and give it a rip, you'd be surprised how incredible it plays on modern hardware.

I really wish they'd put out a PC trailer... in general though the game looks fun.

The last Far Cry I didn't buy because it looked and felt way too much like it's predecessor. This one... this one intrigues me...

After reading some comments:
When it's a game about shooting brown people (or eastern europeans) - everyone's okay witht that. When it's a game set in the US - suddenly there's people worried about how it will portray the country.

Germany is in Eastern Europe? I guess I'm bad at geography.

Listing two examples does not necessarily exclude any other options. Ever heard of 'including, but not limited to'? You have to include that in legal language, but on the [H] forum - not so much.

Offends the thin skinned pussies and looks like an awesome game just like FC4 was before it.
I cant wait.

You're either reading into it or projecting. Not everything is a "leftie conspiracy".

Either way, are we really that thin skinned?
When it comes to the mass/corporate media it is. No longer up for discussion. Can't wait for the decrepit left over hippie turd generation to die off out of the ranks of boards of directors, corporate executives and CEO's.

If you want to flush out think skinned people make this game about a group of ISIS supporters. You know the real world violent 'sect' of the 21st century. Then again I can catch that on the News just about any day. I guess if you want an affirming ideological-porn fantasy for a Progressive, you have to do it in make believe.

LOL.. watching these new vids i get a serious walking dead impression.

game looks to be lots of fun. Hopefully there will be plenty of hunting to upgrade your gear

I feel like we flushed one thin skinned person out...

All this talk about White Christians, you people have never played a Far Cry game? Your enemy will be the Raccoon, the Black Bear, the Timber Rattler, The Elk, Moose, Sparrows, Coyote's and at least one White Buffalo that will attack you mercilessly every 20 feet of in-game movement. THESE are your REAL enemies, Left-Wingers.

Looking forward to the game, I enjoy the FC series enough for what they are. Other than that, some people need to lay off the bath salts, and I don't mean the antagonist in this game.

People are annoyed because the theme is very much played out and dumb as hell. In Far Cry 3 you were in a random, secluded island. It made sense for a crazy cult. Far Cry 4 was semi plausible. A group taking over any county in the US would last 2-3 days at best. They'd have 100 officers per every madman swarming down on them.

I've said it many times, but taking the drug war in Mexico and exaggerating it a bit would be an excellent fit for the game. Make it spill over into the US, have the cartel(s) occupy a few towns in Texas or something. Pretty much fits right into the gameplay of Far Cry. Armed checkpoints? Trippy drug sections? Armed crazy people driving around in SUVs and trucks? RPGs and hand grenades? Check! The only problem would be the terrian. Might get a bit stale.

I have to admit I giggle when people get mad about the premise of a work of fiction. Fiction. Game. Not real. Thin excuse to blow shit up. We accept this and move along, and blow shit up.

Derivative. Ubisoft already did a drug cartels Far Cry. Have you not heard of Ghost Recon Wildlands? Ubisoft would be spit roasted over an open flame by the haters if FC5 was cartels-anything.

Seriously. I think the "christian ISIS cripples american town and you gotta take em out" premise of this game is going to be good fun. People need to quit being so thin skinned or assume its an "attack on religion and Muricas values". Gimme a break.

This isn't a mockery work or thinly veiled political propaganda. But then I never watched shows like Dukes of Hazard or Justified thinking "omg hollywood lib propaganda to mock rural folk". I watched because they were fun and had memorable characters and you rooted for the good guys AND the bad guys, and the orange car did stunts and it was all just very bad ass.

Makes you wonder who the real snowflakes are. ;)

Will never happen. It is too plausible and would wake many people up. That and PC yells of "bigotry". Ubisoft got crap from people over the newest Ghost Recon having a drug cartel taking over a country.
