Uber Settles Background Check Lawsuit For $10M

Remember the lawsuit filed against Uber by Los Angeles and San Francisco in 2014 over its background check procedures? Well, the company has announced that it has settled out of court. The settlement, approved by the Superior Court of California, has Uber paying ten million dollars within 60 days.

Today the Superior Court of California approved the terms of a settlement between Uber and the District Attorneys of San Francisco and Los Angeles. Uber has agreed to pay $10 million as part of this settlement, as well as to address a number of advertising and airport-related issues—many of which we have already dealt with.
