A new report released today claims that the U.S. is preparing to challenge Google ITA deal.

U.S. regulators are preparing for a possible antitrust challenge to Google Inc's planned $700 million acquisition of airline ticketing software company ITA Software, according to a media report. Officials at the U.S. Department of Justice have not decided whether to sue to block the deal, Bloomberg reported on Thursday, citing anonymous sources.

You can only buy so many companies before people start to notice.

Not necessarily more money. Comcast just spends their money *differently* than google.

The proposed deal has sparked worries in the tech world that travel websites such as Orbitz Worldwide Inc, Kayak and TripAdvisor could be deprived of ITA's critical software.

So if this software is so critical why isn't the government requiring a forced break up of ITA? Its ok for one company to own everything, but not another? *sigh*
