On one comp, when it turns on, it has a black screen, with a bunch of white font, on the other comp, BAM, go straight to the XP loading screen.

What is causing this?

(the only diff, is that on the comp where it goes through the black and white checking screen, the HDD, cdrom, and mobo are all on one cable)

anyone know what is causing this? and what i can do to speed load times up?

Its how they are set up in the bios.
The fast one probably has the quick boot option turned on.
Has the hard drives and cd drive predetermined as opposed to auto-detect.
Etc, etc.

Its normaly "F2" or "Del" to get into the bios.
Best rule of thumb when altering settings.
If your not sure what it does then only alter one setting at a time.
Makes it easier to correct mistakes.

Look under Advanced BIOS Features.
It could be named Quick Power On Self Test.
