Twitch Relents And Allows Breastfeeding On Stream Amid Controversy

yall are completely misconstruing the point i was making. my whole point was that there are certain things the society has deemed to be a private affair. people have been successfully breast feeding their children for hundreds of years without having to show everybody. most of the mothers i have known would prepare ahead of going out in public to make sure they had breast milk in bottles. and i DO understand that sometimes you gotta do what is necessary because you got stuck away from home longer than planned and the little tyke needs food. again... i got it. the whole "whipping the pecker out" was a bit of satire on my part because of how ridiculous i feel that some arguments have been so far.

When I see people say but it's "natural" that is when I pull out the taking a pee, poo, and sex stuff. Since it is natural as well.

Then there is the whole no looking at my boobs, my face is up here. Asking to see their boobs, but they get mad.
Who knows. Soon it will be they want to cover up. Things change so fast as to what is in or out.

If you read what I typed and understood it, you already had your answer. :)

Non stop boobs? Make it happen!

There are all kinds of ways to arouse people, most of which dont even require nudity of any kind. Covering up or shaming the body or it's functions isn't going to stop that or be any more or less decent.

If someone wants to breastfeed, fine, I dont have to watch.. If someone wants to pee and poop on camera while playing games, fine. I dont have to watch.

If a private company wants to ban people for whatever reason it sees fit, fine. As long as I'm free to start my own.

Females have been shamed for so many different aspects of their body as a way to control them that to ignore that fact that this is less about common decency and more about perpetuating a means of control over them by a male centric culture is disingenuous at best.

Whatever you may think about how disgusting children, child birth, and the processes surrounding it are, you're free to focus your attention elsewhere. I know I would. But then, I'm not getting turned on by nude kids and adults of all ages at beaches either. And I somehow manage to control how I react to the things that I do find sexually attractive without raping and perving out. Judging by how we treat sex compared to violence in this country, I guess i'm in a weird minority.

It's ok to be weird.

Hah, I missed that this Heatheredeffect woman also is on youtube. ASMR videos and a model. Totally not doing this for attention while wearing low cut tops and whispering sweet nothings into your ear.

We should be entitled to pee on telephone poles in back alleys when drunk then... Can't control it when drunk
tbh I don't care but at least be discrete in public and don't stream it... I'm sure you can move the camera when it happens.

This scream attention influencer...

All streamers are attention influencers. There is no highground for any of them. Even less so for the people who watch them.

Hmm, I wonder if I can identify as an infant and be breast fed live on Twitch?
Would you seriously allow THIS woman to put you in a diaper and call you bad baby on cam?

MY VIRGIN EYES!!! I'm forever damaged now. Time to start using heroine, buy guns, get radicalized by one or more hate groups, turn transgender, and then hate god.
I am sure the only thing you are doing now is going to pornhub and looking up breastfeeding porn.
If you find any good ones, please share!

I mean some mother's can't even pump, but yeah, it is better for you.

I think that is the key issue here though is, are breasts sexualized? I would have to say hell yes. I get that they are for feeding, but if they do not cover up and just whip it out for all to see, then why would they get mad if somebody asked to see them outside of breastfeeding? It's not right, but it's a valid question.
Should they get mad if guys or girls look at her breasts? If she is sharing them with everybody around, then that is on her.
If a woman wants to she me her boobies, then that is cool with me. :)
If breasts were just for feeding offspring then breast tissue wouldn't be up to 60% fat. Breasts are part of the natural reproduction cycle of humans, including sexual attraction to males. Males are wired to have a sexual attraction to breasts because size and shape potentially dictates the health outcome from rearing, just as lordosis and hip width are indicators of successful gestational outcome. These gender identifiers are not "sexualized" for no reason; there is scientific backing for it in proliferation of the species.

the larger part is, why are "we" reacting so strongly negative to something that's potentially sexual while it's perfectly ok to watch something that is as violent, bloody, brutal, twisted, and as photo-realistic as humans can potentially make them without being real on the same platform.

it's all stupid. I'm all for whatever pushes the cultural norms out of it's puritanical nonsense revolving around sex and the human body. If that comes out of the need for people to be attention seeking narcissists, then meh. Still better than treating it worse than violence.

Porn industry is a multi-billion dollar market. So profitable for being something 'bad'.

Most americans are 60% fat cmon man lol.

Not sure how that relates. Profitability has nothing to do with marginalization and demonization. The very term "porn" is a negative one, which has an even more valid application to the horror genre than it does to sexual content. Erotic forms of entertainment have no business being treated more harshly than horror and many action genre film/video/images/art. The fact that it does, is what keeps it from evolving from something that's only there to get you off in 10 minutes rather than be something skilled people would invest time in creating actual stories around.

Full disclosure... I only read the headline... and I have absolutely no problem with breastfeeding but come on... Twitch is a VIDEOGAME STREAMING WEBSITE. Do your shit off camera, or stream yourself when you don't need to breastfeed. Why is this controversial? Have any of you searched YouTube for breastfeeding videos, or run across them? You'll have a relatively attractive woman with like a thousand subscribers, but videos with millions and millions of views of her breastfeeding and "teaching" how to breastfeed. Are we all going to be naive and think that people aren't jerking off to these videos? Are we going to believe that some of these women aren't taking advantage of this knowing full-well men are jerking off to it to get views?

I think it's absolutely disgusting to sexualize breastfeeding, but come on... if I were Twitch I would have stuck by my decision to not allow breastfeeding on my service. If people get upset then fuck 'um go stream yourself on YouTube or whatever. The streamer should be spending time with their kid, pumping before or after the stream, or streaming when they don't have to do that shit.

Am I the only one who sees this shit for what it is? It's very obvious to me.

If the platform was all about games and watching other people play them, they would have banned all webcam video feeds showing the players from day one. Just the game, and mic audio from the player.

ALL of twitch is people wanting attention, which is why the focus is the video feed showing the players. It's not just obvious to you, it's what the platform is totally based around. Being upset or surprised that someone would use whatever they can get away with to compete for all that juicy attention is kind of tone deaf.

If you were twitch, you'd be just as willing to do whatever makes you money / popular as they all are. The only thing checking the limits to which you will go to is advertiser dollars. Popular feeds == better for the business as a whole.

edit: and guys jerk off to everything. Trying to control content based on what guys might jerk off to is incredibly pointless. It's not anyone's job to police themselves or others so that someone else may not be aroused inappropriately. It's your job to control your arousal, and to not keep yourself so sexually frustrated in life that any nudity or seeing a baby feed gets you going.

Pretty much my first thought about it. It's one thing to bread feed in public when you have to at certain times. But it's another to deliberately stream a live cam feed to the internet of you doing it instead of at least pausing the feed or going off camera while she does it since she's pretty encumbered while feeding anyways. If she does that on camera, then it's unequivocally for attention just as Darth Ender alluded to above. Though I disagree that Twitch should allow woman to do that on a gaming-focused streaming site, it's a very sensitive subject and I don't blame them for caving on it just due to all the bad PR the liberal media will give them if they didn't.

Was mostly meant as a humorous comment. I do agree with your sentiment on it though, why is it "cool" to watch a stalker go house to house and stab people but watching people have sex (even in an overly sensored scene in a movie is so evil and should be eliminated. When sex is something we are supposed or meant to do, murdering i think a bit less so.

If I am playing call of duty, no one on my friends list thinks much about it, but if I start playing Rapelay, suddenly no one texts me to come hang out anymore lol.

I suspect that if instead of a twitch channel, this woman was breastfeeding twins while overclocking a CPU, a lot of the negative nancies in this thread would be singing a different tune.

I might pay to watch that to be honest...

But maybe if she were breastfeeding twins and using her feet to build a pc, that would be worth the money.

It boggles my mind that posters somehow see going to the washroom as the same thing as breastfeeding. One process involves the genitals and the body expelling waste. The other process doesn’t involve the genitals, uses a part of the body which both males and females have and involves producing the primary source of nutrition for infants. Entirely different processes, anatomy, and location.

It's all on the body. It's also all natural. What more do you want!

I also wouldn’t want my wife sitting on a shitter while feeding my baby...

Hmm. Time and a place for everything. I fully support desexualizing and allowing women to breastfeed where they need to. But I’m just not sure about doing it while streaming.

On the other hand she’s in her own home and if she didn’t draw attention to it, why give a fuck? If it hadn’t been (likely reported and) removed all of this would be a non issue.
Live streaming by definition is drawing attention to it.

Hold on kid, I know your hungry, but I just need to logon to Twitch, turn the cam on, and start streaming.

I think the whole controversy just showed how the normalizing breastfeeding campaign still has long ways to go.

Telling breastfeeding mothers they need to cover up or turn off the stream? It is not their problem that some people are bothered by this. Breastfeeding in public is legal, and the choice whether to cover up or not is with the mother.

twitch is a private business. The only rights you have are those they allow.

Nevermind... On stream, not Steam.
All this fuss with nary a ray been traced.
Like anchient green screen technogy it is...

Coming soon to an augmented reality near you.
Wake me when wccf posts some benchmarks.
Wonder how many tension ho coars it ate?

The difference is, you can control whether you get drunk or not, or even if you elect to have a drink in the first place. Plenty of choices for you there. This is why you are held responsible for any property damage (including pee).

The human race requires perpetuation, and the best way of feeding our offspring is breastfeeding, and I'm sorry it can't be scheduled for your comfort. You don't have the child bearing equipment required to do this, so quit shitting on others for using theirs.

Crying about imagined injustices is just stupid. You're hardly encumbered like a woman parent is, so quit being jealous. The parents of those kids are responsible for their kid's property damage for the next 18 years, IN ADDITION TO THEIR OWN FUCKUPS, so quit making their lives even harder by being openly judgemental!

Or are you just jealous that they have boobs and you don't?

Twitch can allow whatever they want to. But we all know that woman is doing it on purpose for attention and money. Just accept it, Twitch is Thot Central. Pornhub Lite.

Ding!

This is very simply and plainly someone monetizing sexuality while professing maternity.

I don't care if they allow it or not, but let's at least be clear what is actually going on.

was that sarcasm?

I'm not sure how I triggered that reply  (The one above yours)
I'm grateful for what mothers do and I'm not against breast feeding in public or anywhere, I made a joke and let's be honest, Twitch decide what happens on their platform and she knew that.
