Hey guys. I am building a new gaming desktop. Been without one for a long time. What I wanted to know is should I get a TV or a monitor? I am looking to get a max of 42 inches for my desktop viewing pleasure. Is there anything out there that is worth getting over another?

There are no good gaming monitors or TVs at that size, not if you want things like high refresh rate. The LG CX 48" OLED is the smallest truly good TV for gaming. It needs to be put further away from your eyeballs but is not all that much bigger than 43". If you want anything smaller your options are 27"/32" 1440p, 27" 4K or ultrawides at 3440x1440 (34"), 3840x1600 (38") or super ultrawide 49" 5120x1440.

What GPU are you going to be using? Also, what kind of display are you used to?
Personally, I'm on 34" ultrawide and I like it a lot. Good immersive feel, decent size, and definitely something you won't see on consoles.
