So i just got comcast cable in my work studio. They gave me a great deal of $45 a month with no install fee.

They also gave me free cable tv. I have an old 17" LCD screen that I would like to use for tv through my mac pro. I also have a 30"cinema display for work.

Is there a way to make my 17" monitor play just TV?

You could grab a TV Tuner and EyeTV, and set it to play on the other screen.

EyeTV hybrid would do the trick.

I'll sell you mine for 15% below retail :D

Its only used a few times.

btw it did not come with a cable box, Is eyetv still the way to go?

You really only need the cable box for pay-per-view and digital tuning. Most channels will tune just fine with a regular TV tuner.
