Turning off the volume into IE8

Hi, I've IE8 and someof the offshore website me and my dad use (for backhome news) have somekind of movie playing on it and making really big sound if speakers are on, i want to know if there was a way to turn the volume off in any page that you open.

Can you please explain in detail?

I did uncheck " play audio into webpage" under advance tab on IE properties but it still plays.

Open IE8 and go to a site that has sound and listen to it. Leaving IE8 open, click the speaker icon in the notification area and click 'Mixer'. There will be a slider for IE8 (and any other application with sound). Slide it all the way down.
