Hey all.

I am currently playing with Trixbox (asterisk) and having some great fun too!

I have it working internally now, but want to set it up for users who leave home alot.
I set up a subdomain pointing to my IP, and put the Asterisk server in the DMZ (for now).

Some users couldnt authenticate to the server, however i have one user who just connects via a USB modem to connect and call me, but i couldnt hear them?

So my questions are.

1. Which ports to i need to foward to the server. Useing SIP
2. which ports do i need to open on the firewall for the remote users
3. any ideas why i couldnt hear the one use who could connect?

Notes on 3. Mic was not on mute. and worked in Sound Recorder.
Phones are XLite soft phones, Windows (and one mac)

Anything else to ask let me know

1) Check the wiki. You need to forward the SIP ports AND the RTP ports ( Which are udp ).

2) See above

3) So with SIP passing through ok, the call can be setup, but the ports that the audio travels on ( I want to say udp 10,000-20,000 ) were closed. So the control line was ok, just no audio.

I'll see if I can find the data in the wiki, but you might want to see if trixbox has a FAQ that has this data too.

Try reading this and see if it helps: http://72.14.203.104/search?q=cache...P+sip+firewall+ports&hl=en&gl=us&ct=clnk&cd=1
