I'm currently running this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817171034 and I have actually managed to cause my machine to shut down when all 3 cards go full tilt.
At the moment I am running a fan controller with 2 swiftech 655s and 14 fans all running low rpms.
3 290 cards with full unlocked 290x bios and shaders. Not overclocked
i7 4770k running at 4.3ghz but I want to shoot for 4.5 when I get more time.
A single SSD and single 1tb spindle drive.

I'm looking to do probably 1300w minimum, but I just keep going around in circles with all of the reviews for the high end psus.

Is there a consensus on what is the best psu in that range around here? Looking at newegg most of the enermax units have a pretty high rate of failure and then absolutely horrible RMA service as does the Antec I looked at.

Halp.

He EVGA 1300 G2 is an awesome supply. The Seasonic X-1250 and the Antec HCP-1300 would also be stellar choices.

The UCP 1100 only has 1kw on the 12v rail, and you're tipping that nearly on video cards. Max load on a 290x is 315w. That leaves you 55w for everything else. So yeah, I'd totally expect you to be tripping a UCP 1100.

Ya, when I bought the UCP1100 it was intended to run triple 285s on an x58 board. But it did not like the x58 board and Provantage sucks ass and wouldn't let me return it, so it sat on a shelf until last year when I finally upgraded from my 920 to the 3570k. So it wasn't bought with the intention of 3 290x and the third 290x kind of just happened cause I got a smoking deal and here we are :)
