I have been trying to sell my Samsung KS8000 on Craigslist and eBay... lowered the price to $450 and people were STILL trying to lowball me for ridiculous amounts. So, in spite I threw it onto my desk to see what it would be like as a computer monitor and BAM!

I honestly still want to sell it because the place I am moving is VERY limited for space, but it's still impressive to game at 4K A 60hz on a 49" screen from 3 feet away. Really made me wonder why 4K computer monitors are so much more expensive than 4K TVs that are bigger in size. None of the monitors have a higher refresh rate than 60hz either in 4K so why the huge price differences?

You get lowballers since you can get a new 55" TV for like $300. people probably don't care if it's 4K or not, they just look at the size and price, lol

Selling a used TV sucks. I am trying to sell an LG 55C6 OLED in mint condition and its a living hell.

One of the reasons why I am super careful about my TV purchases

I tried to sell my 49" KS8500, a couple months ago. TV was in flawless condition with a newly replaced panel. I listed it for $700, then down to $600, but offers were consistently below $500. Would have cost me around $150 to ship + eBay seller fees, so I ended up giving it to my sister when her old 37" 720p TV flamed out. Her 10-year old boy says it's like watching movies and playing games on IMAX compared to their old TV.

That's the 49" ? That's exactly what I use and it's fcking amazing. Dude don't sell it. The new 2017 MUxxx series has been stripped down. It's getting slammed on Amazon. The KSxxx is the best serioes they've ever released other than possibly any OLED sets they have if any.

4K/60hz is fantastic for gaming. Don't get caught up in the Freesync/2 or GSync / 144hz BS. It's nice don't get me wrong but my 1080 ti keeps my KS8000 @ 60hz very well supplied with FPS.

If you need my numbers / settings can help you dial this bitch in man. It's Amazing. This was the number one rated set for 2016 according to rtings.com

Awesome act of kindness. How did your panel end up needing replaced? I'm outside my warranty. I'm not too scared of my display going out but you raised my level of concern a bit I must admit.

I paid $1300 for my KS8000 from a Best Buy here in Kansas City in late spring 2016.

Little sis is a single mom, so she needs every break she can get. I felt much better about giving her my TV instead of selling to some cheapskate hand jobs who tried to lowball me.

The panel developed some minor light bleed along the bottom right edge. I decided to get it fixed before the warranty expired, so Samsung sent a tech who just replaced the entire screen. No charge and it looked like a brand new TV.

I loved my 49KS8500 as a PC monitor, but it was just too big for my desk. I got tired of looking up all day as I used it. Got a 43" Sony X800D that's perfect for my desk and much easier on my neck.

That's why I bought it. RTINGs loved it, and the PS4 Pro just released so I bought the PS4 Pro the same time I bought the KS8000 so I could play 4K HDR games. I have to say it's growing on me. I played Ghost Recon, Battlefield 1, and Star Wars Battlefront on it last night for the first time and it was absolutely magnificent to look at. I mean the detail was extraordinary. Noticed no input lag or anything, and I agree with you... I don't buy into the GSYNC bullshit for the most part although I did own a Predator X34 and that was absolutely fucking perfect for gaming, and it fit on my desk perfectly. I just think this TV on my desk looks ridiculous and I would love to push it back just 2-3 more feet... then I could deal with it. As it stands it's way too close to me. If I had the $1100 I would just buy a Predator Z35P right this moment, but I can't imagine doing that when this TV which I can't even sell in mint condition for $400 is performing so incredibly well at 4K @ 60hz. It just makes more sense to keep it unless someone offers me a decent offer for it locally. I need the money now anyway.

I remember when I first went 55" 4K with first gen curved Samsung. Playing WoT and other MMO's was a whole new feeling. It does look a little to big and close for that size desk. Think you could wall mount it in your new place?

Unfortunately not. Maybe next month i'll just get a desk that has more depth. I really wish there was a articulating arm that would fit a 400x400 VESA mount.

The KS8000 series were great TV. People will look at that it is last year's model and wonder why they should pay as much as the cheap 2017 model. The entire 2017 line up besides the quantum dot TVs are far inferior to the 2016 line up in every way. Normal people only look at size and price and don't look at any reviews. A woman at work talked about the hell of a deal she got for a 65" for $400. She couldn't even tell me what was the manufacturer of the TV. So I can understand how Samsung can sell you a shit TV and get away with it. Normal people won't notice a difference.

2016 KS serie are also quantum dots, the quantum dot refers to the style of backlight it uses. 2017 Samsung just made a bigger deal out of it trying to ride on OLEDs thunder, calling them QLEDs even though they had nothing to do with actual QLED displays that are still WIP. But in reality, they are worse than last years KS models except for slightly lower input lag and slightly faster pixel response time. Otherwise they are the same, just with worse quality control. (Samsung really dropped the ball here in 2017)

To OP, dude do not sell it if you can help it. Samsung KS serie is one of the best LCD screens you can buy without spending big bucks and going for FALD TVs. It should keep you happy until OLED (or real QLED) becomes affordable.

Agree with keeping the KS if you can. It was much easier for me to part with mine because I recently got an OLED for my main TV. Otherwise, I would have kept my KS for TV viewing.

I have a 65KS8000. Anybody else have issues with seeing micro stutters? Like on some content, there appears to be frame drops. This happens on live TV, Netflix, and Blu Ray.

Just curious, why are you selling it? I'm buying a C7 for my next computer monitor.

Not on mine. Are you using a lot of motion interpolation? Called Auto Motion Plus in settings.

Then I do not know what would be causing it. I was just wondering if you had it on and set to way too strong levels and when it fails to smooth the motion it becomes stuttery.

Out of curiosity, try turning it on but set it on custom and put both sliders to 0, no interpolation added. I remember some TV's working better with 24fps content this way and this Samsung could be one. I would not know since I am a user and supporter of motion interolation, at very low levels that is (both sliders at 3 for me).

While Craigslist and eBay makes it obvious this is not the answer, that nick in Hungarian means OP is from this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zamárdi town. (The other i is a Hungarian thing which means from that place. Heckuva compact language.)
