I'm running 3x7970s, and I'm finding out that my UPS is pushing out 1kw when the three GPUs are at full load. This is without my monitor plugged into the UPS...

It's only rated to 900w max, so it's not doable since the overload warning will sound. I'm using a Cyberpower 1500AVR 900w UPS that I got back in 2009. Now I have a cyberpower 850 surge protector, but I'm afraid that if I plug my PC into it I could fry something when I pull 1kw+ of power.

I'm using an Enermax MAX REVO 1.35kw PSU, with a Corei7 @ 4ghz and 3x 7970s.

Any idea if it's safe to plug my PC into a surge protector and pull 1kw of power?

My computer wont start when i plug it all into my 1500VA UPS. I have plug my 3x 24" monitors into a second UPS.

Depends on your surge protector. I tried looking your model up, and cannot find any specifics about its wattage rating.

Check the bottom of your surge protector. There should be a wattage rating on it.

Edit: found it on the cyberpower website. That particular surge protector is rated up to 15 amps, which means 1800 watts. You're fine using it.
