transparent / reflective / see through acrylic glass?

i remember a few years ago i saw a worklog with that somewhere.

when you light it from the inside of the case, you could see through it, but when it was dark inside, it was almost like a mirror.

does anyone know where i can find that stuff to buy?
also interested in the worklog if anyone knows it

Sounds like a semi-transparent mirror to me? Supposedly you can get them at just about any place that would sell sheets of glass, was looking for some myself to do this project:

Didn't look hard but was unsuccessful, even McMaster Carr didn't have any.

A friend of mine used mirror reflective glass tinting film on his PC case window and it looks almost the same as the stuff you get from custom PC shops. it wasn't that expensive and it is relatively easy to install.
