Howdy, everybody.

Been running my Z97 Gene VII for a little while now, single video yadda yadda with one SATA6 SSD.

I just got an Transcend M.2 SSD, plugged it in - No dice. Went into the BIOS, did my due diligence, found the PCIex4/mPCIe/m.2 setting, switched it to M.2 mode... No dice!! Played around with the other SATA controller, the Intel SATA... Nothing!

So I'm stumped. Can anybody offer suggestions?

I cannot get my newly purchased Transcend M.2 256GB to post on an ASUS Rampage V. I too have found the PCIe_8x setting and set it to M.2

There was no card in the PCIe slot anyway.

Your post is confirming to me that these drives simply do not work. I am in the process of returning it and getting something else. What a disappointment.

Isn't the Transcend drive a SATA3 drive?
And do the M.2 slots in the mentioned boards even support those?
I would say you have to get a M.2 PCIe SSD.
Like the Plextor M6e drive or the Samsung XP941.
