I skimmed over the rules because I remember vaguely something about not posting a "whats the value of my..." threads but i didn't see it in my skimmings so I'm gonna post (if I didn't skim hard enough the mods can delete this). After seeing (and consequently drooling) over the new Sony Vaio VGN-SZ140, I'm wondering how much more I'd need to scrounge up if I told my current laptop. Its by no means old or outdated and while the 15in screen is nice its by no means as portable as a 13.3in laptop would be. I'm in college.

My specs:
IBM Thinkpad T42 (Centrino)
1.8ghz Dothan | 1gb PC-2700 ( 2x512mb, up from stock 512mb) | 80gb 5400rpm HD | Multiburner (Matsushita UJ-812) | 15in SXGA+ Flexview Screen powered by a Radeon 9600 | 2 1/2 more years of warranty | Intel Pro 2200BG Wireless

The laptop itself is in good condition. Replace the palm rest and keyboard and take a can of compressed air to the internals and the thing could pass as new. That being said I'm practically salivating over the SZ140. I'd get it with the 1.83 core duo, large capacity battery, min ram and min hd and max warranty and then buy either a 7k100 100gb or a Seagate 160gb 5400.3 and a pack of 2x1gb Mushkin DDR2 sodimms. That comp would scream.
