Top 5 PPD/Watt Rigs in the [H]orde

Nathan's L5640s run at 2.4GHz with turbo. R-Type is correct - get ppd out of your equations and compare frame times instead, which should be linear.

Nathan, i7z should work for that board, maybe. I can't remember if I ever got it to work with that board/chips combo, or if I even tried.

Here's some standard A3 info.

x6 1090t 10k PPD @ 210 watts = 47.6 PPD/W add a 460 20k @ 306 watts = 65.36
Dual 5640 ES 36k PPD @ 278 watts = 129.5 PPD/W

The x6 is at stock, the l5640's are at turbo (2.4).
No more gpu folding for me!!

Here is my 4P 6166he Dedicated folding rig
maybe not fastest but one of the best for ppd/w
over 1000ppd/w

WU 6904 ...454293 ppd
100% load is 445-451 watts

WU 6903 ...427550 ppd
100% load is 421- 427 watts

Another factor Im running a ozc 1250 watt gold PSU that has claimed to be at 92% efficiency in the power range that I am pulling

but 6901 sucks big time 232005 ppd
100% load is 410 watts

Damn it's crazy how much power we used to pour into this lol. I mean, it wasn't long ago when if we hit 100ppdpw we were doing great, then a few hundred with the SR2 was like a god lol, now we've got rigs capable of doing 1000ppdpw!?!?

Damn how the times change lol. Guess it's time to build a 4p or get lost in the crowd lol, but then again we've got a rather large 4p crowd as it is lol

it wasn't long ago when if we hit ...
It wasn't that long ago, hmm, well, over a decade ago...when our Pentium and Athlon Thunderbird machines would turn in one Tinker work unit a day, each work unit at one point. No, not an exaggeration. And we walked to school in the snow, uphill both ways, with nothing but our wristwatches on. And we liked it. :D

Holy Moly, I've got a lot of memories tied up with this grand enterprise.

Athlon's on SETI lol, that's going back, damn that was a while ago lol, atleast I found a better project since then

Hell, we just need to start a NE thread, specify which u it's to use for what clients and go from there

Too much has changed lol

My E5-4650 4P rig is using 705W from the wall. PPD with 8102 is 905K.
PPD/Watt = 1284

Update: TPF for P8102 is now 06:48 at 3.1GHz, Watt = 725. PPD/Watt = 979599,7 / 725 ~ 1351

The 4p E5 is the clear winner for PPD/Watt at present. And my folding teammate's rig beats your rig again. ;)
His score: using 635W from the wall, PPD with 8102 is 990K, so PPD/Watt=1559.

A post over on OCF has prompted my digging out the calculator.

Dual 2660's @ 2.3 248.5k PPD and 247 watts from the wall 1006 PPD
