I want to make a ranking board of current systems with current WU.

We can use this as a guide fo those who are power conscious. And who isn't if your running more than one rig during the summer.

If you post in this thread I'll keep the list updated. I need basic rig specs (the hardware that is directly folding or is letting you get crazy low watt numbers) Your folding name (if you post your badge I'll put it next to your rig in the list)

#1 10e: 197, Magny Cours system
#2 jebo_4jc: 174, SR-2 system E5640s
#3 Valter98c: 148, SR-2 system E5530s
#4 Kendrak: 122, SR-2 E5530s
#5 Musky: 121, Dual E5530 GTX460

My SR-2 rig is running 2x E5530 and is pulling 480 watts and gets 42kppd currently.
PPD/Watt 87.5

which SMP WU?

I think you might want to try to at least attempt to standardize which WU people run.

I've watched my SR2 range from roughly 35k ppd to 55k ppd based on the wu.

I would just say the best you have seen it preform. I wouldn't be shocked if a rig with a couple OC-ed GTX460s showed up on the list....

I guess I might say: Any folding rig, any mix of clients, with the best WU that has graced the system.

I'm not power conscious (should be given that last electrical bill) so I can't help, but am interested in the figures.

Yep that's what you need. I have the cheap one.

Will you take GPU rig numbers as well?
of course. Let's do full rigs. Heck GPU rigs will be at a disadvantage, really.

I'm doing at best 62k PPD at 840watts

73.8 PPD/Watt
What hardware?

Yeah they will be, but i bet i'm above 50PPD/W - let me get my rig back together tomorrow and i will post some numbers

I wonder if a laptop would actually win this one...

I bet a modern I7 or I5 would come close. My core 2 duo/9500gs laptop can get up to 2500 ppd on the very best Wu and with the screen off it only draws 45 watts

Dual .975v GTX 480s @ FTW 752/1504/1900 clock speeds

30,166 ppd @ 455w = 66.3 PPD/Watt

I'm going from 187w idle to 455w load on a 1000HX / X58 platform. Shaving 80w off for 90 PPD/Watt seems plausible with a more efficient base system.

for those numbers your not running the smp client?

I wonder if an overclocked, but stock vcore, dual hex core could hit 100 ppdpw that seems to be the Target that's forming

Right.

At 4ghz the SMP client only added 8k PPD on average for me. With that and overclocked 480s (900/1800/2200) the total was 42,000 PPD at 830w or 50.6 PPD/Watt. Plus a flashing 1500va APC UPS.

The UPS's displayed wattage is about 40-50w lower than the kill-a-watts btw. It starts beeping when the kill-a-watts at 910ish watts, or 865w on the UPS display.

49k ppd on a 6073, avg draw is 515 watts
PPD/Watt : 95.14 on A3's
Should be over 100 once I get to the new bigadv units :)

Skynet, in my sig

gosh i gotta get my kill a watt on my rig to see how these 32nm chips are doing!

try the new big adv's

Did the math off all my testing, cross it with Kendrak's numbers, and given my faster speeds I should hit 135 PPD/Watt give or take a 10% Margin of Error

Your 32nm quads should do even better! I'll post this weekend my bigadv numbers

Boo... PPD/W is where I'm loosing big time.
As of yesterday I'm pulling 510watt. HFM has me at 19,500 ppd. That's when I'm not running a 6701.

38.37 ppd/w

hmm, when my tablet gets here i may give it a go......it may give you guys a run for your money ;P(look for info in sig....GPU/CPU pulls 35w load :) )

no im losing big.. im using 365w just sitting at my desktop and getting 0 PPD :p

I can get above 10,000PPD if I don't touch my computer. But I average around 9,000 according to hardfolding.com

So best case is about 42PPD/W with Athlon II 435 @ 3.5 and 9800GT @ 692/926/1836

CPU gets roughly ~28PPD/W and GPU gets about 50-60PPD/W

Anyone else?

The GTX480 have made a showing. Seems that GPU folding is back......

Unless some other people have some SMP rigs that will put them out of the running.

AMD x6 at 3.8ghz, integrated video: 240W

Edit: got a 6025 for 15,176 ppd = 63.23 ppd/w

Small bump but this poor AMD rig needs all the help it can get :)

The 32nm xeons look very good so far. I'm over 100 ppd/w. I'm gonna wait till I get a good Wu though.

AMD x6 at 3.8ghz, integrated video: 240W while getting 14,665.6 ppd on a 6069, which is the best unit I currently have stored in my HFM benchmarks. I know I've seen better, but so be it.

61.12 PPD/W

damn i really need an x6.. my phenom II 940 @ 3.6ghz and gtx 260 @ 600/1512/1103 only got 13,500 PPD and i know i was using a hell of a lot more then 240w since i use almost 300 watts just sitting on my desktop... stupid nvidia drivers.. and stupid asus motherboard for not allowing me to use cool 'n quiet..

but if your using CN'Q , then you wont be effectively folding!

Based on my rough numbers from last night.

triple GTX 295 box
45K PPD
715W

62.9 PPD/W

quad 9800GX2 box
39500 PPD
980W

40.3 PPD/W

FAIL
Nobody ever claimed the GX2 was power efficient. :D

edit: I think the Watt number includes a loaded CPU (Phenom II 940) but it shouldn't make that big a difference.

34,800 PPD & 666 Watts so 52.2PPD/watt.

Not bad for an 8800gt, GTS250, evga 275/250 COOP card and a 1090T @ Stock,

Maybe we should have top 5 GPU and top 5 CPU??

2x E5640 at 4.0ghz (191x21)

78,521 ppd on a p2685 while drawing 450W

174.49 ppd/w

Edit: Updated because my volts were too high....still set for when I was trying for 4.2ghz. Also swapped out for a lower power 9800GT

lol im not even folding now.. so yes i want my damn CNQ support!!!!

I thought that Cool n quiet only kicked in when your processor was idle. Is that incorrect?

correct the processors must be completely idle i think below 5% cpu usage on all cores before it will downclock all the way to 800mhz.. when under load all CNQ does is change the fan speeds as the temps change on the processor..

Anyone else?

Hold your horses! My kill-o-watt should be here when I get home, and my SR-2 should be running by the weekend.

jebo is going to win this pretty easily I believe. We are all just fighting for second... :)
