The latest WHQL drivers for the GTX specifically are here. The 169.21's. The 174.xx drivers dont seem to support the 8 series. At least that's what their site says.
 
I don't know about the 8800 GTX, but the 174.74 beta drivers work just fine with my 8800 GT, and I got a noticeable (5 fps or so) improvement in Crysis to boot.
