tons of spam linking to my blog

I run a blog and lately i have been getting a ton of spam linking to my blog, its all like weird porn and medicine spam like viagra and that crap. I just mark it as spam in my wordpress panel, is that what i am supposed to do? any way to prevent this?

I'm not sure what blog software you are using, but I run with BadBehavior and it works like a charm. Took 30-40 a day down to maybe 1 a month.

thanks for the help guys, this is my blog http://www.gamephys.com/ I have been starting to get a lot of traffic from google so i think that's why the spam picked up.

Is comment spam like im getting something to worry about? or is ignoring it ok? I thought if you get ots of links to spam your blog could be marked as spam itself or an untrusted web site?

Sorry to necro this thread, but Bad Behavior and Akismet have kept my WordPress site 100% spam-free. I believe the counter on Akismet is cumulative - on my little blog, it's showing that it blocked 526 spam comments (over some unknown longish time). In comparison, BB has blocked 233 connections in the last week. BB works on a completely different level, and will stop the spammers from even accessing your site, much less posting spam. I second modi123 on the BB vote.

I use recaptcha and it's stopped the automated bots on mine.
