i heard that small res can damage the performance, so, without res at all, the damage should be bigger.

no?
 
No. A small res could possibly hurt performance by letting air mix in with the water. This won't happen with a t-line.

See above. If there is no res to speak of, there is no bad design to hurt performance.

For example, the Swiftech microres is very small, but is designed to keep air out of the ssytem - even in high flow sestups. No performance hit whatsoever (other than the slight pressure drop). Look at almost any single 3.5" bay res, and you've got a ton of air being sucked in (unless you'r running a wimpy ass pump). Big performance hit. Strangely, they are all bigger than the Swiftech micro. Hmm....
