With my 7900GT CO Superclock, at stock nVidia reference speed(450mhz core, 650mhz memory), I get artifacting in:

Oblivion (retarded lines sticking out of models/characters)
A bit in Half-Life 2
rthdribl demo (the window flickers every so often, really visible artifacts)

Complete lockups on:

3DMark03 (it freezes just after loading the 2nd game demo/benchmark)
In Detect Optimal Settings in the nVidia control panel.

What it doesn't screw up on:

Counter-Strike 1.6 (The only game I've tried)

I'm using the latest nVidia drivers, the 84.24 or whatever.

I've sent in an RMA and requested cross-shipping. I gotta send in the fax tomorrow, but damnit I'm rather frustrated. I should have stuck to my 7800GT CO. I'm pretty sure the problem is probably a BIOS fix away(the vertex shader clock is too high or something), however flashing BIOS will void my warranty, I think. So that's not good.

sorry to hear that

flashing the bios will void the warrenty on evga vid cards. its covered in the lifetime warrenty. so there still hope you don't have to rma it. evga even supplies the bios on their site.

Yeah, I can download the BIOS from mvktech.net but those bios aren't available on eVGA's website. I'm not taking any chances. I just want a card that works though.

Update: It runs 3DMark03 sorta 14950 points, but there's artifacts at the ragtroll demo at 450mhz core, 500mhz memory - This is retarded. Way under spec.
