Think i could put a 590 and 6990 in the same system?

I want to dive into GPU programming and evaluate performance on both NVIDIA and AMD hardware, preferably on the same box. I'll be working in Windows 7 and Linux.
 
I think you can get a board where you can enable and disable certain PCI slots which I think would allow you to do this. How ever you would probably need to uninstall and re-install drivers unless you have multiple OS's
 
It works fine. I've gamed on a 6970 while folding on multiple GTS450's at the same time. I don't see it being any different because they are dual GPU cards.
