I will probably before the end of the year, move beyond my aging 1366 platform and likely go to an AM4 setup. My TRUE Black Rev. C has been awesome with the 990X, and as it wasn't cheap to begin with, I'm wanting to move it to the new AM4 system when the time comes.
Thermalright, along with many others, have publicly stated that they'll provide the necessary mounting kits for older heatsink assemblies so that they'll be compatible with AM4.

So I emailed their customer support with a jpg screenshot of my old Newegg purchase, and here's how it went:
Really? This page shows the TRUE universal BTK specs & such, and says it is compatible with AM4 and my TRUE Black Rev. C. So I email the dude back:
And the reply:
Nan's Gaming Gear sells on eBay and Amazon and specializes in Thermalright gear, so I asked on Amazon:
https://www.amazon.com/thermalright...cm_cd_cl_ch_al?_encoding=UTF8&asin=B00UN05Q6A
So of course I get an incomplete answer...yes, the bracket works with AM4, but no confirmation that it works with the TRUE Black Rev. C.
Anyone here work with this cooler on AM4, or at least have more info than I do?

Hi Glenn
Sorry TRUE Black doesn’t support Ryzen.
The design is different, I wish we can still production this, but we have to follow the INTEL and AMD rule for the heatsink so we do some different design for the Thermal.
Sorry about that.
Please check our new cooler for Ryzen.

Thank you for your reply.
This web page:
http://thermalright.com/product/true-universal-btk/
...states that the TRUE universal BTK works with AM4, and is compatible with the TRUE Black Rev.C heatsink (#13 in the list).
Is that information incorrect?
If it is accurate, I am told that the proof of purchase should allow me to upgrade my old TRUE Black 120 so that I may continue to use it.

Any clarification you may offer would be appreciated.

So there seems to be a conflict between what's on their webpage re: the TRUE universal BTK and what this guy is telling me. I tried to point that out to him and basically got stonewalled ("It don't work, so move on").Varick xxxx
