Has anyone tried using the Thermalright SI-128 SE with the SG03? It looks like a better heatsink than the NT06-Lite.

I don't know if this is still relevant, but I have an SI-128 in an SG-01 (same clearance as an SG-03) I had to dremel out the two forward support bars so that I could bend the front the get it to fit into the case under the power supply (ST500EF-SC). With my Opteron170 the hottest it gets is 60c (using CoreTemp) at full load. After a lot of research, I've found that this high core temp is normal for an SFF or an Opteron with stock cooling. It's been running strong for a year now. I figure the poor airflow cancels out the cooling gains of the heatsink with a decent fan on top of it, but it still wins in the no-noise department.

Do you have pics. of what you did? So you basically removed the two thinner bars (that look like smaller heat-pipes) in the front of the SI-128?
