Yeah I am hoping my sweetFX reshade still works.

I reinstalled a few days ago having not played it for maybe 6 months and the reshade mod works exactly as before.
Gotta say, the game looks even better!
Mind you, this is with the higher LOD and updated high res texture mods as well.

So - for the people that have the normal game and DLC...do we get the GOTY edition via the patch? The issues with consoles not being able to use the saves shouldn't apply.
Does the GOTY edition add or tweak anything else beyond (I'd assume) not having a pseudo-ending for the DLC areas?

I just started getting back into the game the other day. Seems like I put off games that take/suck my life away as it's hard with family, work etc. Just hit level 17 and started seeing all the updates they have implemented. Man this game is epic...can't believe I stopped playing. I have 3 mods installed. I would like to keep it as vanilla as possible and not go to ala Skyrim/mods...I will try the reshade mod though as I thought it no longer worked

Good to know. Yeah I didn't have an issue from 1.22 to 1.24 so hoping that would be the case.

Nenu-are u using the e3fx shader mod from Nexus? I would assume his install instructions work to get the reshade to work and there is no issues with install? My game already looks awesome on my Samsung JS9000 running AMP and Dynamic mode. Does the reshade add even more pop? I use sweetfx is games like Deadspace and a few others and I really can tell a difference, and I do like the saturated colors

I found the Toussaint region to have a dark fuzzy film over it so I used SweetFX to remove that and balance the colors out a bit (less yellow). I think it makes the whole game look nice though using the Blood and Wine visibility v1.1 preset.

edit: using that in combination with forcing 16x AF in the drivers seems to be really nice. I toggle sweetfx on and off in game and for sure see the difference.

I posted a bunch of shots I took using Ansel in the Ultra High Res Screenshot thread with the filter I am using if anyone is interested. (one of the images I made a note about messing with a filter in Ansel - but the rest are taken with no Ansel filter)

So, it's a bit shit that you can't "top off" the GOTY bundle if you have the base game for a lowered price. You have that capability with the "Witcher Trilogy" but not the GOTY edition.

Yeah I was thinking about that.. for us who bought the game last year and already bought both DLC packs and such... The goty seems like a reward for the holdouts. Oh well. That aside I still can't praise CD Projekt Red enough for this game.

The non-holdouts were rewarded by months of playing the game before everyone else

I just got my physical copy I had pre-ordered through Amazon. Holy moly - 6 DVDs. This is going to be awesome.

eh, what are you guys talking about? GOTY is the original game, expansions, free dlc and a new patch. Getting the patch should upgrade everyone else, unless someone read something different.

I was under the impression the GOTY edition was a separate package that integrated everything into a single download and the DLC's wouldn't be quite as separated out. They have their own intros/endings and in the case of B&W, a totally different graphical filter. Seems that at least on PC, the GOTY edition is just a package download and the game is still identical to the normal version w/ the season pass.

This is exactly where I'm at.
I was expecting Hearts of Stone to be in some way unpleasant after some of the user comments but its just as good as the main game imo, after a few hours.
It will be interesting to see how good B&W is :)

I enjoyed Hearts of Stone, but there's no comparison. Blood and Wine is about 5x longer (maybe more) and includes an entire new continent with new graphical filters, treasure hunts, and even new abilities.
Think of Heart of Stone as a traditional DLC pack. Blood & Wine is like the "Expansion Pack" of old. A pseudo-sequel that uses the original assets.

Saw the last few pages in the thread and I caved on buying the two DLCS. Played TW3 since launch and yet never bit on the expansions till now.
    Thanks guys :)

Also, I've put 150 hours in TW3 and had no idea about this upscaling enemies option! Is this new? If not, failllll on my part, but whatever because this is awesome!

Yar, Projekt Red really upped their game. Witcher 1, Witcher 2, and Witcher 3 all showed huge improvements over one another. Looking forward to their cyberpunk-inspired project.

Yeah if Cyberpunk 2077 is the same quality, I will be extremely happy.

    Same.

Honestly, Witcher 3 has totally redefined how an RPG should be made. Just compare it to FO4, which honestly isn't even fair. Witcher 3 is just superb, and could honestly be in the running for the Best Game of All Time.

You are right, but if you compare it to Skyrim I think it's a closer bet. I like the Witcher because of the awesome story, I like Skyrim because it feels like you are making your own story, be it quite generic.

I don't know what it is with Witcher, but I just can't play it for more than 15-30 minutes without getting bored and turning it off. I get super excited and see all the quests and whatnot, but then I'm just like "meh" and play something else.

that was me for the past year, until recently. i think using headphones really increases the immersion factor and probably helped me get over the hump. there is just so much to appreciate about how masterfully choreographed the visuals, music, and characters are. story-wise, i personally found the game kind of slow until i met the baron (not a spoiler) - which isn't that far in. it also blows my mind that geralt's facial hair grows over time.

Yeah I'm at the Baron section and it seems to me that the player has been in the kiddie pool the whole time up until then (if this isn't still in the shallow end lol). They are still introducing game mechanics and most of the mini games and this is already 10-15 hours into the game for most people.

The Baron quests are definitely when things hit stride. I really enjoyed the wide variety of quests you get in Novigrad, too. That entire chapter felt almost like a different game because there's very little exploration and combat after so much of that early on. It's also a pretty good opportunity to do a little bit of random "?" exploration to break things up.

Don't do like I did and leave the Skellige quests until later. I was concerned that I'd screw something up, but you won't. Definitely head over to Skellige as soon as you're in the right level-range. I went over too late and the entire continent was a cakewalk and gave me almost no XP to boot.

I did the same, but thankfully they have a on/off feature with this latest patch to scale enemies to your level. I don't use it but I could see how it could come in handy.

Does it scale the XP quests and gear? I think that was probably the worst thing about it. I wasn't very motivated to look for random loot or complete the treasure-based sidequests because they gave me no XP and gear I already had much better versions of. If you could scale that, that's one more step for the Witcher 3 toward the greatest game of all time.

scaling only makes the enemies a bit more challenging. XP has always come from quests and not enemies. And pretty sure loot does not change

Not sure why but turning on in game AA cuts my frames from 75-80 down to 45-55. I really didn't think it'd have that much of an impact and I don't see a huge difference anyway so I guess I'll leave it off.

Pretty much this; my only complaint in the game was the lack of enemy scaling, which forced many of the quests to be either too easy, or impossible, depending on your level.

Thankfully, we have mods for that.

This game is on my very short list of things to go back and re-play now that I've replaced my 970's with a pair of Pascal Titans.

Fired it up just for a quick peek and, while the 970's made it look good with medium settings, with the settings cranked to the max on the Titan's.. its breathtaking really. (and butter smooth!)

Really looking forward to immersing myself back into that world once I get through Deus Ex:MD at some point......

I also fired it back up. (haven't played Blood and Wine or Heart of Stone yet). I had forgotten how immersive this game was. The ambient sounds, weather effects, background music and noise, people talking. Just a really good game.
