My system (see siganture for specs) is almost retirement age now. I started on it about year and a half ago and all the parts I handpicked to provide above average performance (that's before i865 and i875 chipsets showed up and HT CPUs just started to show up and were well over $500 bucks each)...and I still can't find some spare time to stealth that damn DVD drive ;) .
Here's some pics:

both-sides-angle-shots.jpg

Originaly it had an Abit Siluro GF4-Ti4200-8X OTES 128MB video card which I replaced about 2 months ago with brand new Hercules Radeon 9800 Pro 128MB I got on eBay for $180 shipped.
I just love the layout of that Shuttle board: power connectors top right, optical drive IDE right center, HDs IDE and SATA bottom right and ton of space around CPU socket. I wish many more boards had similar layout.

All I got to do now is get a good Cu CPU heatsink to match the ones on video card.
Unfortunately this one might be my last full size system since I'm thinking going SFF next.

This is my baby. Check out the project log here.

So, what do you think? :D

I made this massive thing last year for a mod contest and also because i've always wanted to make the puzzle box.it took me about 3 months from planning to completion there is a lot more info in my gallery on BCPCs.com any way on with the pics

over all light on you can see the gold leafing effect for the design.

and last but not least one of the drive covers open

Not to shabby i'd say for my first fabrication this thing is massive though and lights up my entire living room. really it's the first of many hopefully i will be able to get the pics of my new project up soon.

Ok, here is what it did look like:

Now, after lots of work, here is the result. The paint is not the best job out there, but it was a helluva learning expirence for me.

The case still has a few flaws. The clearcoat got screwed up on the right hand side of the top, but after redoing it for the 4th time I finally said screw it, it will be on the same side as the desk. One day I'll pull the top and fix it, but no rush now.

These are some older pics that I scrounged up, but they are decent. The wiring is terrible but I'm not going to touch it until I upgrade next month and have newer pics. I haven't gotten any feedback on my system in a while so I was hoping some of you expert modders could give me some feedback. Thanks.

My file/print server:

Asus A7V
Duron 1200
512MB PC133
Hercules GeForce 2 MX
20GB & 45GB Maxtor HDD's
AOpen 48x CD-ROM
Kensington KNE111 10/100 NIC
GlobalWIN FSP82
Deer 250W PSU
WinXP Pro

The top hole was supposed to be for an 80mm exhaust fan, but...I forgot to drill the holes and haven't gotten around to doing it yet.

The cover was most of the work, and was cut out with a dremel. That's 1 sheet of custom cut acrylic under there. I did have a red cathode, but it crapped out and I never got around to replacing it.

This is my main box:

Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe
Athlon XP 2400+
Sapphire Radeon 9600XT
512MB Samsung PC2700 (2x 256MB)
Western Digital 60GB
Maxtor 40 & 20GB
MadDog 16x DVD-ROM
Samsung 52x CD-RW
CMD ATA100 PCI
Tekram DC390U2W
Thermalright SK-7
Sparkle 350W PSU
Win XP Pro

Comments:
The case is basically stock except for the front door with the window mod on it. The 3 LED is on the acrylic from behind, and is always on, but it's really not bothersome at night (well, I work 3rds anyway). I admit: i did a ghetto paint job using a black marker on the MadDog drive...sadly, this isn't the first time I've done this. :p Yes, I have a SCSI card in there, but the SCSI drive for it keeled over on me, and I'm trying to trade for a replacement. The SCSI drive is in the cooling rack.

The glowing panel is a Thermaltake EL panel and has switches for the 2 cathodes in my box. 1 is at the bottom, the other at the top.

LAN/backup box:

Abit IS7-E
Pentium 4 2.4B @ 3.1GHz
512MB Kingston ValueRAM PC3200 (2x 256MB)
MSI GeForce4 Ti4600
2 Maxtor 40GB (not in RAID)
Toshiba 6x DVD-ROM
PCI Firewire
Hercules Fortissimo II
Cooler Master KI4 heatsink (basically the Jet cooler heatsink w/o the Jet)
Antec 350W PSU
Win XP Pro

Comments:
Probably my favorite mod I've done. Started out when a cat happened to pee on the stock case. It was going to be a case for someone else, but I couldn't give someone a case that had been peed on. I figured I'd just mod it.

Originally it was going to be black, but wind during the clear finish kinda changed that. The faux pipes were slapped on at the last second.

Besides the obvious paint job, I cut out some of the plastic in the front to allow for much improved airflow. The grill in the back was also cut out. The case window was done by me as well. The power and HDD LED were replaced with blue and white ones. The lone cathode has a rocker switch in the flat 3.5" bay cover...along with an MSI sticker (which is funny since I have an Abit mobo in there).

The 2nd hard drive doesn't appear in the pix just because I've just recently gotten ahold of it.

These are two cases I did over a year ago. Thought you all would get a kick out of them.

First Case for my sister starting college
