here's what my E6600 is doing on air w/ an eVGA 680i board w/ 1.38vcore. not too bad w/ 54C load temps running Orthos for 10+ hours ehh?

This 680i board is more stable (at this speed) than my Gigabyte S3 was at FSB 400, but it won't overclock quite as high...

I see you have VistaUlt there, may I suggest...

VistaHP = Vista Home Premium
VistaHB = Vista Home Basic
VistaBU = Vista Business

By the way, I hope to be the first person to submit a Q6600 overclock on Vista Ultimate. It won't
be long now...

I noticed this guide calls for smallfft stability. From reading around, it seems that's the general consensus for testing cpu stability. However, when I went to find my cpu's stable voltage point, 1.44v under load would be 27+ hours stable with small fft. However, the system was still showing general stability, and 3dmark loop would bsod eventually. Testing large fft, it'd always crash after around 2 hours. I pulled vcore up to 1.455v under load and it looks to be stable again. I'm at 4 hours large fft currently, and look to be going strong. Maybe small fft doesn't go high enough to hit all the cache c2d's have.

thanks for the info ziddey im trying to see if my oc of 3420 is stable ont his e6600 but it seems to blue screen about 2 hours in orothos on blend.... im just upping the volrage slowly..since my cpu is idle at 62 C! right now... kinda hot gotta get a better cooler this zalman 9500 is used and the copper looks dull...

yikes! What vcore are you running? Maybe try soaking the base of the hsf in vinegar for a few hours. Should remove the oxidized copper. That or just sand it down a little I guess.

Ya, RLY!

Photoshop > legit
Clockgen > legit

Its ok, I can pull 8+ hours of 3900+ orthos now. Once my board is modded lvlarvin's result is going to get owned by something legit.

the vcore in the bios was around 1.45? cpu-z is showing 1.44 ... my idle temps are 65*C with zalman9500 room temp is around 78 degrees *F .... ordered the tuniq tower120 hopefully itll bring down the temps...

i just decided to sell the zalman 9500 led to whoever wants it... will put it up for sale soon... as well as other cpu coolers i have like the thermalright xp120...

i was able to oc to 3.6ghz but so scared the idle was around 70*C hahahahahhaha

Gonna post mine soon got the Tuniq Tower 120 in, my temps went down from 65*C idle to only 55*C idle!!! very good cpu cooler! and room temp is 88*F and e6600 is @ 3,420 mhz

question - when I get my E4300 running should I post results here? I know it's technically not a "Conroe" but where else would I show it off? ;)

Mywish would be ahead and enter your results and your screen shot we will wait the da boss to register it in the database or not. :)

Yeah, and once there were a handful of posts like that maybe a moderator could move/copy them to a new Allendale thread.

well there is a quad core in there.. so i wouldnt mind if you entered your allendale cpu.... but we gotta change the name from conroe overclock database to something more creative such as the intel overclocking database..... or the 65nm overclocking database... something of that sort..... go ahead and post the results... i gotta fix up the excel file alot of ram speeds are mixed up... when i rearranged it....

just call it the Core 2 Overclocking Database, then it will include the Quads too.

I second this idea (partly because I'm the guy with the Quad in here :D ). Calling this the Core 2 Overclocking Database would be more accurate, and inclusive, allowing new members of the Core 2 family to feel welcome. You know we are going to start seeing some Q6600s soon, as well as more E4xxx CPUs, so let's make them feel welcome.

Hi Juicestain,

Can you kindly post a screenshot where Orthos is actually running on the screen at the time you take your screen shot and CoreTemp or TAT to show your temps, all on the same screen? And CPU-Z show your memory timings? Like everyone else does to support his entry. Thank you.

It would also be more helpful if you fill in all the text the rules ask for like for. And a single screenshot that shows everything that was going on for that moment in time on your PC -- the screen should be complete, unedited and speak for itself. Thanks.

I got 3440 MHz on 1.4 volts BIOS a few weeks ago with my E6400. So adunz's voltage numbers are consistent.
