Its because when you play online, all the AI is controled by the server, not you whilst on single player its your pc thats handling everyting.

Single player with same settings it tanks down to about 15. Have to lower everything to high and view distance to 3k to get the frame rate back up. Using 100% fillrate in both modes.

Performance seems so erratic in this game. I get better performance in single player than in multiplayer but even on all normal with no AA I only get 25-35 FPS on the ground. I wonder if its that extra 512mb vram that helps so much.

Not sure the exact name, but it's the 15th MEU server. They are real good about kicking the people that TK or try to play it like bf2 and shoot at helo's for a pickup etc. It runs custom coop missions I believe, not the coop campaign.

Guess i need to get a new pump for my exos-2 and get to overclocking this 940 BE.
 
I got the demo to run on my laptops integrated intel GPU (4500mhd).

260gtx, i7 920 cpu. im getting between 20-50fps online. smooth as silk even on 20fps. infact i am runing arma 2 right now and have 11 tabs open in firefox plus teamspeak running on the background
 
Is crossfire working or is there a way to get it working yet?

Good to see that it plays better online and sp. I was dreading GTA IV when it comes to being a system drag. Just got to wait to get paid and thinking about getting it on steam.

Since when is 20fps smooth as silk?
 
I just wish they would fix the water effects having a horrible impact on my FPS. I get between 30-40 in the inland towns, 40-60 FPS in the forests, 60-80 while flying, and 15-25 when I'm anywhere near the coast. WHY?

Sounds like your leader couldn't hack it in the military and is trying to make it up online.

I played around 6 hours on 7th's server today, had a pretty good time. Lots of TK though, and my friends were lagging pretty badly. I was usually #2 or #3 on the server flying my A10 around (love that thing like a child).

Not too much I can do about the lag, its the game doing it. Ive watched its resources like a hawk =(

The machine its running on is an 8core Xeon 2.5ghz 8gig Ram. It's a monster.

Could not connect/get in to you server, tried 3 times. I would get stuck in "Receiving Data" screen... Where is your server located?

(Yes i got good internet connection)

Dallas, that happens when the game takes a long time to Sync, its an ArmA issue. Was in Arma1 as well.
 
DLing demo now, will see if I like the feel of the game before buying.

Just joined one of your servers... the map/modules you have going on is a joke, i picked a crewman hoping to use an armor or something instead dumb crap puts me straight in a utility truck in a middle seat with no options to get out or do anything in that matter only "Options..." tried to respawn and guess what back in a truck with no means of powering the engine or getting out...

The A-10 is a nice jet, but I am starting to really love the AV8B (normal, not the LGB). Works out well to climb to 3500m, and dive down and target seperate targets with the 6 Mk82's and then fly out NOE at 800 kph, makes it hard for Any AA to nail you. Of course the Mavericks on the A-10 are nice... On a side note, I noticed that ArmA2 lets you target ground vehicles with Sidewinders. Works fairly well at the lighter armor and unarmored vehicles.

I find the biggest problem with ArmA2 is that most "pilots" don't taxi out properly or call their take-off/landings or check that the runway is clear. I try to treat flying as if it is a flight sim.

I noticed the TK'ing Saturday and Sunday too, its was crazy. The admins were kicking people, but it was getting pretty aggrivating for awhile. I was pretty PO'ed when I was re-arming my F-35 and some arse shoots me and steals the jet and then crashed it into the spawn.

I get the same thing on their server. I've been playing on the TBG server.
 
well, I fudged up and in my excitment to get ARMA 2 before NA release, I ordered the deutch version and it took forever to arrive. So now I have it. Can anyone point me in the direction of a deutch to english conversion

Yeah I remember you actually, I was flying around tagging behind you picking off the stragglers with the main gun to get better at it for a while. I like the Mavericks so much, they are probably my favorite weapon. The A10 is also a blast for staying around 200 and just laying into them with a barrage of death. I tried the AV for a bit, but I kept having roll issues where I would try to pull out of a dive and wind up "slipping" sideways a tiny bit with the mouse and initiating a roll. Really need a flight stick to control the faster jets at those speeds on the deck.

Out of curiosity (I know some i7 rigs are running this game worse than C2D rigs or Phenom rigs) but is this game single threaded or multithreaded? I own it and I don't really know. :(

does this game have a problem with i7 hyperthreading? ive heard some report it and it sure ran like shit on my porn-stacked pc. (i7 3.7ghz, 285 SSC gtx)

This game doesn't really like hyperthreading, disable it

Runs all 4 cores on my q6600 to full power.
 
I know people have talked about this on here, but is there a guide or site i can go that has all the info on getting my USB logitech mouse to run smoothly? The movement is jerky and it ruins the game.
