That's quite a list of tutorial places, it would be cool if someone could sort them by like n00b, Intermediate, Expert and maybe some kind of like rating on how good the tutorials are, but I guess that's asking a lot. But at least with this list, I can start my quest for Photoshop supremacy.

Awwww damnit...I forgot to make that long list of new tutorial sites I found...now I gotta spend all night going over them and trying my damnedest not so see some ultra cool tutorial that I wanna try out and distract me for hours...oh the things I do for my fellow [H] photoshoppers...

Thanx for the linx....I'll filter out the 404's and dupes and integrate them into my alphabatized list...

EDIT: Ok...this is gonna take awhile...got lots of 404's that I gotta find out if they were redirected to another website and a few redirections that I gotta update the old html and a few that I have to check on and a few that don't have anything to do with PH tutorials (found a gaming website)...and that's just his first post...still gotta go thru his 2nd list of linx so it'll be awhile until I update my list...

EDIT 2: AHHHH!!!!!! While going thru the 404's I ran into ANOTHER LONG list of PS tut linx...crap...looks like I'll be busy all day now...grrrrrr....the things I do for [H]

EDIT 3: SON OF A BISCUIT!!! I'VE FOUND 3 MORE HUGE ASS TUT LISTS....AHHHHHH!!!!! If I find ONE more then I'll go crazy!!!

EDIT 4: Good...haven't found anymore huge PS tut linx lists...I've gotta sort thru 642 links (and that doesn't include the 2 posts full of links above) and filter out dupes, 404's and off-topic links and update the links which were redirected and THEN I gotta go thru EVERY SINGLE LINK (including the above) and filter out all non-PS tut linx...someone better send me a cookie or two for doing all this stuff for you guys...

EDIT 5: FINALLY...filtered/fixed all 404's and fixed redirects...now all that's left is to filter out dupes and search each and every one to filter out non-PS tut websites and THEN integrate them into my current list above and filter for dupes once again and then I'm done...so far the number of websites is 562...should be finished either by tonite or tomorrow...

EDIT 6: This has got to be the most edits I've ever done to one post...anyways I'm almost done...just going over these ~550 linx to filter out non-PS tut related websites and then I integrate the list into the current list and then I'm all done...I'm seeing several cool ones that I've never seen before...I'll post the updated list tomorrow...it will take a long time to look at all these websites...

EDIT 7: NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I ran into ANOTHER list of PS tutorials...luckily it's not too big and I see tons of dupes so it won't add too much work...ugh...

EDIT 8: Oh son of a dik...I just ran into another pretty big list...damnit!!!

I've found 394 MORE linx...and the bad thing is MOST of them I haven't run into yet and there's not many dupes that I can see...looks like there won't be the big update until Wednesday...damn...I was so close to actually finishing the filtering in the 400+ linx that was ready to integrate into my current list above...now I've found lots more new ones and it's gonna be an all day thing again...grrr...I'll work on it until I fall asleep and then continue tomorrow...

EDIT 11: FINALLY!!! I have filtered out EVERYTHING...I'm going to sleep!!! All I have to do when I wake up is kill the dupes and integrate them with my current list above and I am D O N E ! ! !

EDIT 12: Last edit I swear...I'm pretty much done...alls left is to filter for duplicates and combine it with my current list above and filter for duples again and then I'm done...list will be posted before noon CST!!!

Hmmm...I don't think locking it would be a very good idea...I doubt that untitled (and other potential contributers) would have PMed me the links if this were locked...and I wouldn't be able to edit my post anymore if this were locked would I??? I'll need to update my links every so often to filter any links that may have died...and update it with new ones that I find...

I see where you're coming from, and what you say makes sense, however, I'm trying to
stem the tide (and in so doing, minimise your unpaid workload) of linkage. If someone
really feels that he/she has a worthy list of links, it shouldn't be too much to ask that they
just PM it to you. You then work your magic and PM it to me, I add it to the locked thread.
Credit will of course be given to contributors in the post.

Alternatively, we could have a monthly "PS Related Linkage" thread, like the wallpaper
and competition threads. Digital Artwerk, let's hear some thoughts on this!

Well what is it you're worried about??? My "unpaid workload"? Server stress? wasted thread space (which consists of thanx and contributions)? etc...I don't mind doing it...it's just a bitch TO do...lots of work...but after I'm finished I don't mind doing it...If it's space, then after this thread fills up with thank yous and blank posts which at one time consisted of contributions that I integrated into my list, then you could PM me to make a backup of my posts and you could delete, lock, whatever, this thread and I could make a new one and just paste all the info back in...instant cleaning...like maybe every 2 or 3 pages we could do this...or if there was a way for you to lock this thread and have me able to edit and post (post cause I'll need a fresh post since each post has a limited number of characters) in the locked thread and have ppl PM me new linx...

Hmmmm...I just realized something...I'll run out of space in my first post...I didn't think of reserving posts for future use at the top...MajorDomo posted after my 1st post and I posted twice after that so I could clear thoses 2 posts and continue my list in there...don't know if 2 posts can handle ~450 +/-200 more links in my 3 posts...I/we might HAVE to redo this thread anyways...hmmmm......

See...I kinda like to edit/post my own lists cause the first time I posted the list this thread started out with I had edited it like 4 or 5 times fixing things I missed...you might have more than 1 revisions PMed to you and things might get confusing and go wrong and stuff...I could post a big fat message at the top and tell everyone to PM me linx contributions instead of posting them and only post thanx and comments at the bottom...I kinda like ppl thanking me...prolly the only place in this whole forum that I don't get flammed

heh - save yourself some work... no PM req'd - i'll edit/ delete my posts in this thread as soon as you are done.

better still, delete this thread and put up a new thread sticky it, put a date on it as in BLAH BLAH BLAH PS linkies: tested date. and then update it when somebody PM's you with a 404 etc. ($0.02 disclaimer)

i was really gratefull for the first list you posted - cheers, i only had 30 or 40 of my own, and i get bored with just following one tut, so having a shed load to play with is a lovely treat.

do what you want with them, am glad you found some more on your travels, and i'm really looking forward to seeing a 'final' list.

if yuo are integrating them into your bookmarks as you go, how about exporting/ attaching a HTML file of that section of your bookmarks...that would save a bunch of us a stack of work and possibly cases of carpel tunnel syndrome

i run a public key list in much the same way as hyperion is mentioning - in terms of admin and stuff, IME, it really is the way to do a list that can quickly get diluted. but for that to happen and for you to be able to edit it: yeah, you'd need to be a mod

i'm not sure what the cut off was, i think it was @ 2000 characters or something like that, so if the final is 700 links, i'm guessing you'll have to spilt it over two post/ pages.

a shame (unless of course you dont post the links and simply stick up a .txt / .html attach.

I don't mind either way, since I don't use Photoshop.

If you guys have a severe case of
anal-retentiveness and insist on editing your own posts (and risk getting the beautiful
order of your hard labour over-run by 'lesser' posts) then I will gladly make a "Digital
Artwerk - July Photoshop Linkage" sticky.

... however is in my opinion the goal that we are striving for ... a unified, stable, well-
maintained list of useful links. Once we have some semblance of order, making minor
changes should be easy. For you to PM me v2.0.1 of the 1400 item list, and me editing it
should be piss. I must confess though that I much prefer you guys doing the grunt-work!

Just bear in mind that assuming the 'final' list, contains 1600 addresses, and that a n00b
who is making a serious study of Photoshop technique, spends an average of 1 hour on
only a half of the total list, he/she/it would spend:

1600 links (half are selected, averaging an hour per link)
800 hours (assuming a work-day of 8 hours)
100 work-days (assuming a 5 day work-week)
20 work-weeks (assuming 4 work-weeks per work-month)

Yields 5 full-time months!

tbh, as i'm not doing the upkeep, or the sorting, and i'm pretty much a n00b round here, i'm staying schtum and tbh, i'll be glad with whatever you guys decide. i get hyperion's point about keeping it stable & easy to maintain. in terms of editing the post: i'm sure that once the final list is in place and numbered, hyperion will edit it via PM requests.

as for being anal - i thought that was a pre-requisite for wanting to be good @ PS

COME AND GET IT!!!! HUGE update to the list...200+ linx...but if you think THIS is a lot then just wait til I'm done with my next link...I have 8 websites with collections of catagorized tutorials from websites all over the internet...I'm going into each of these websites and grabbing all the different websites and adding them to my list...the list should be bigger than the current list right now...it's already passing 50 new ones and I'm not even half way done with the first website and this one's the smallest one...so stay tuned for another big ass update soon

AHHHH!!!! Lots more again...I got a big list that's not added yet too...looks like I'll be updating the list soon again...awwww man!!! I'll NEVER get too it if I acquire Doom 3 before I finish updating the list again...and I'm going out of town for our family reunion (ours are fun and once a year) for 3 days...and summer school (college) is ending and I gotta get ready for exams...I'll try to get it done before Doom 3 hits the shelves or else who knows when I'll get to it...it can take many hours for me to filter thru them as thoroughly as I do...

there's no rush pal - i just spam them up as i see them.

tbh, you can chill for a while anyways, i have started to add every single one of these (i am on page 2 second posted list) to my bookmarks, i am however developing carpel tunnel sysndrome in the process.

i am obviously finding some 404's and by using a firefox extention (sort bookmarks) it pairs up all the dupes nice and tidily.

once i have finished, right-click...[alt+l] <enter> 'g the whole list to get them into my bookmarks, i shall, run a sort on them, paste into into word, run a macro to remove any dupes i dont see by eye.

once i've done that i will spread them out over 4 or 5 directories (edit them in text pad is easiest) and PM hyperion & urself with a html file for you guys to double check to see if they sit nicely into your bookmarks.

it wont actually take that long to be honest, but hey, actually using photoshop is fun too

okies, that didn't take too long.

Instructions on how to get these bookmarks into Firefox
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

NB: if you use the bookmark backup extention, (the one that saves your bookmarks every day/every time you close the browser), the procedure is exactly the same instead of using the bookmarks.html file, you can use the latest days version instead (you'll still do step 6 though!)

1) at the top of your bookmark menu select <manage bookmarks>
2) a new window opens. in the new window, hit the <create a new folder> button
3) call this folder "untiled floats my boat" or something equally sensible
(seriously give it a name that will stand out amongst 700 or 800 lines of text)

3.5) just to be sure of the process, create a new bookmark to google in that folder.

4) on the file menu choose <export>
5) choose somewhere sensible to save your bookmarks

6) repeat step 4....just in case
7) did you really do step 6?
8) look, just do step 6, you are going to need a spare copy in just a second!

9) rename the second version emergency_bookmarks.html.bak

10) open the original copy of bookmarks.html with notepad.exe
11) look for the folder with a silly name

12) close your browser (necessary else it will try and save into the file your are writing too)
13) might as well close the bookmark manager too

14) pay attention now ******
15) highlight & copy the text in the thread below "as is"
16) switch back to notepad and paste the text "over"

if the first lines dont look exactly the same, thats not a problem, firefox will ignore the extra stuff.

17) save the file with the correct extention i.e. bookmarks.html (or bookmarks.html.tue)
18) open browser and enjoy your 370+ photoshop linkys
