Can't get too close to them.

Interestingly, The F-14s can land on a Russian carrier. Suppose it may be possible in reality. Wonder why they chose that instead of the Nimitz class right next to it.

Putting an end to the F-15 vs F-14 debate.

Screen_220530_004156.png

Our side had lots of bombers, fighters, and launched dozens of missiles. Only a few brave missiles made it through.

Game is DCS World.

How is this game?

Copy pasting from the Ready or Not thread:

Played around in it for an hour. It still needs a lot of work but clearly they are trying to make this a proper SWAT 4/Rainbow Six successor. It does lean more towards SWAT though.

Being early access there is still a lot of bugs or shortcomings. I made it around 20 minutes into my first mission and the game crashed. Weapon recoil is a bit too high, red dots seem to climb all the way to the top for some odd reason even under moderate fire. With the SR-16 and Aimpoint, if you rapid fire the dot floats up to the top of the sight and disappears. Loadout and per-mission briefing is not implemented but you can edit the teams load out in a "team room" which is just cumbersome. I'd prefer a regular GUI and not walking around lockers to change things. Officer AI can at times be a bit off as expected. Ragdoll/body physics can be awkward too. I am playing in DX12 and get some stuttering.

But it is all a good start and it is semi playable. I think this will probably still be in early access for another year though.

Now have around 4 hours into it. Lots of small quirks, but the core game is there. Of course this is an alpha/beta game so don't expect something finished. Development seems to be going smoothly though so I am confident they will eventually get it in a finished state.

More from Ready or Not.
How are those ss from Ready or Not? It’s been a while but I refunded within 2 hours because of how buggy it was (understandable) but mostly because of how it was nothing but bland repetitive corridors.

That is essentially what the genre is. Artwork is fairly good though. I don't expect them to compete with AAA games but the artwork in maps is fairly good. The night club and ghetto houses are very nicely done. The ghetto houses are very atmospheric and could easily be used in a horror game.

Main problem with the game is the NPCs which have super human reaction times and accuracy but that is being worked on.

Yup, STALKER Anomaly + my own (growing) mod list, no Reshade/ENB nonsense though.

On my PC (AMD 3600, 32GiB, 2080 Ti) @4K the avg FPS is 65+, min 45, max 119 (framelimit). Still has those usual STALKER A-life related microstutters occasionally but overall plays really well imo. Absolutely stunning on this LG OLED CX48.

Some Surge 2. The decal on his back says 'I teabag you' lol!

This my first foray into the souls-like genre, and I really do adore what they've done with Surge 2, with the game world and mechanics. Seems really well thought out. I got the original as well but decided to start with part 2 first for the hell of it.

More from DCS.

Tanks vs warships, with helicopters helping.

And purchased DCS F-16. Insane turn radius, great dogfighter.

Biggest complaint? Not enough ammo.

Gonna replay this starting later on today on my whoa-led. Looking at my old screenshots is making really want to play it again. I'm gonna do a hudless hardmode which will be going off my New Game +2, so it'll be my third time through.

I always figured that it's because they've only seen aftermarket steel rail w/ screwed on aluminum handle.

Couple of shots from The Ascent:

You are not Cyberpunk if you don't have Akira elevators (although they probably predate)...

I'm trying to figure out why the AR type guns have holes in their charging handles. The real ones don't. I wonder if this is an airsoft thing. A lot of game developers model the guns after airsoft stuff thinking it looks the same.

There are dozens of brands so maybe one does have some hole in it. I know they are redoing the MK18 model.

Tough game I beat playing with 2 friends the whole way through. The end boss and ending was beyond terrible. Game itself was fun.

Not that I've ever seen. I am familiar with or own all the major / high end ones and tons of milspec charging handles. I've seen plenty of those super cheap Chinese ones at gun shows and on other people's guns as well. I've literally never seen a charging handle with a hole in the back aimed at the shooters face like that. It would be dangerous to do that. Charging handles designed for use with suppressed guns have holes or use various gimmicks to direct gas away from the shooters face because it can be dangerous.

I suppose we'll see if they fix that. I know they had access to most of the weapons some years back, but laws changed in New Zealand.

There is a big update, I have not tried it yet. I know they are redoing the MK18 3D model.

Echo is such a lovely looking game. And that dining room creeped me out to no end...
