I have a bunch of aluminum square cases, roughly 5 3/4 by 5 3/4 by 2 high
closed on 3 sides with the backside open , flat inside with 4 standoffs, theres a barrel connector on the backside as well, but I dont have any PSU to go with it.
I can ship for cost, maybe 6 or 8 can fit into a medium USPS box for ~$17 and change
PCI bracket in the pic for size comparison

Those are neat! any idea on what was originally in them?
Edit: Barrel is probably a 5.5MM x 2.5MM judging by the larger center pin
 
Yeh, ihse units, we pulled the card out and installed in the rack mount that holds multi units and needs only 2 power cords.
I was thinking a nice home Nuc case, or Pi case.
I have a bunch with the cards in them (senders), but buying the other parts to make them useful at home is expensive

Anyone have any ddr4 sodimm? Any size is ok, need to see if the stick in my router is causing crashes.

I did some cleaning this weekend and have a few things that I'm going to get rid of. Figured I'd list them here instead of just throwing them away. If there's no interest in a few days the item will be tossed.

I have one StarTech 2.5" to 3.5" HD adapter. I'll be shipping it in a USPS Flat Rate Padded Envelope which costs right at $11.00 to ship.

Here's the next group of items I'm "getting rid of" from my weekend cleaning.


I have 5 of these 500GB Seagate hard drives. All are in good working condition. They were pulled from office PC's and wiped when we upgraded to SSD's. If there's no interest in a few days they will be tossed.

I'll be shipping them in a USPS Flat Rate envelope which is right at $11.

They'll be packed securely. Either a bunch of bubble wrap and a padded flat rate envelope or I'll do bubble wrap and a flat rate box.

I wouldn't recommend it unless you're looking for a project.

Phil glossed over the BIOS, you won't always get a working BIOS on your board. I bought one of those G33 LGA775 chinese boards and the BIOS on my board was hideously broken. It had virtually no settings available, and the few that were available didn't actually work.

No matter what CPU I used in the board, speed step and fan control was 100% broken. The CPU would always run at maximum clock and the fan would as well. APIC was also broken as well, so I couldn't actually run any 64 bit OS on it.

I was fortunate that the board design was stolen/reverse engineered from Asus/Asrock, because this allowed me to flash that boards' BIOS on the Chinese board, and everything just worked. I had to of course make a custom BIOS image, because the chinese board used a 1 or 2 MB SPI EEPROM, while the original was only 512k, so I had to pad the Asus/Asrock ROM to make up for the larger ROM size. You of course need to use a SPI EEPROM programmer to do this, no software flasher is going to work right.

Also glossed over is the power circuitry for the CPU, which is usually horrible. Those boards often use inadequate and/or insufficient mosfets for powering the CPU, often with no cooling. I added my own to my board, because the mosfets got smokin' hot even with a 65W CPU. The board is currently in use in a harsh outdoor environment as a remote control server, and it has lasted a few years so far, so I guess it passes the smoke test if you significantly modify it.
 
Free, probably DEAD, 1TB N.V.M.E. I think it was a Toshiba pull. I will put it in the cheapest envelope possible. Don't waste your time unless you think you have the secret sauce to revive.

Any interest in a Wraith Stealth? I broke the shroud pulling it off (I can send the broken shroud if you want), and it's mediocre, but could be useful in a pinch?

Also, An Earthwatts EA380 PSU; has been on mostly 24/7 for a lot of years in a home server and worked ok, but had some issues with a modern board (b550) (would turn off while idle, stopped happening when I replaced the PSU and the heatsink, but probably the PSU). I cut the 3.3v on one of the sata connectors. Was 80+ rated back when that was cool.

In the seattle area, would prefer not to ship the PSU because it's bigish, but I can if someone is interested/desperate.

If it has an internal LiPO battery, the battery probably went flat. Try leaving it plugged in for a few hours, sometimes the charging circuitry is smart enough to trickle charge the battery until it reaches its working voltage, and it will charge normally after that. Once the battery is charged enough, the device should turn on.

If it doesn't turn on after a few hours of charging, invasive surgery is required to either revive the battery manually, or replace it.

Also you hold the power button and I believe the volume down one for something like 30 seconds to give it a complete shutdown and then can press the button on the front to restart it. Mine ended up with the battery situation and it's in the 'restore' pile too. :( Worked great until then.

Thank you for ripping on this board. Definitely doesn't line up with the 'it's the same design as the real one' excuse people make when buying these.

You can order them super cheap off ebay Chinese sellers if you're not in a hurry. The only thing you want to make sure is that you get the correct size for the connector to the wifi module.

Personally, I'd rather spend a little bit more and get it from a legit company supporting a legit supply chain, even though it still probably comes from the ccp, although I've seen a lot more taiwan and vietnam electronics lately. Or the ccp is just labeling that way, which is a common and easy scam.
