The Great Keyboard N-Key Rollover (NKRO) Test/Round-up

Eprex 5139H mini keyboard.

Both Shift Keys + Caps Lock:

th quick rwn fx jumps riht vr th azy

A fun and easy test for your keyboard's N-Key rollover ability is to hold down both shift keys and try to type in the following:

the quick brown fox jumps right over the lazy dog

This "Right" thing just ain't Right. Shows the amount of thought that went into posting this test.

Sorry to revive this thread but just got a new keyboard in: Das Model S Professional Silent

Both shift keys + caps using PS2 adapter:

the quick brown fox jumps right over the lazy dog

Looks like the NKRO works as advertised :)

Right or not it still gets the point across.

THE QUICK BROWN FOX JUMPS LEFT OVER THE LAZY DOG

Filco Gen2 Tenkeyless Cherry Red Limited Edition

Like the massive improvement from the Eclipse II to III.

Saitek Eclipse II (Left shift + right shift):

Saitek Eclipse II (Left shift + right shift + caps lock):
<utter failure, nothing typed at all>

Don't get cocky. It's just a coincidence - the way the matrix was laid out.

Now the Sidewinder X4 - that WAS a technological achievement. 26KRO over USB.

More than enough for fingers AND toes.

Two IBM Model M results posted in a row by two different people.

One passes, one doesn't.

I think there is significant measurement error in this test.

Razor Blackwidow Ultimate Mechanical Keyboard. Not NKRO because it's USB.

Lulz.

Lots of 2KRO laptops can type that phrase correctly. It all has to do with how the engineer decided to route the Rshift and Lshift traces and NOTHING with PS/2 versus USB. Although USB is better.

But carry on.

Then it is some strange iteration of the Model M/defective/not a model M. All mine perform flawless with both shifts and caps.

Dell AT101W does as well.

Edit: I see from the Model M thread you are using a PS2>USB adapter. That explains that.

the sad thing is that with modern microcontrollers it really wouldn't be that hard to build a keyboard with 105 key rollover.

Yep. That's one that's 2KRO and passes the test.

Try hold down A, S and then pressing X and see if X registers.

If STD tests were administered this way there would be a lot more people on penicillin.

The G15v1 passes, the G15v2 doesn't.

Both keyboards are 2KRO.

In fact ALL these keyboards give FALSE POSITIVES. They pass the test but will fail other 3 key combinations.

7-key combos dont seem to work, but i never press 3 keys at once, let alone 7.

This is on a G15v1. They must have done something right.
