If you don't want people know certain things don't share them online in the first place.....common sense says to keep it to your self. Whats the difference if i publish in my "circle" or tell a friend verbally? Its the same concept if they slip up then the words out anyway....Its called a social flaw not a design flaw....Not sure why this is real significant.
Sounds like this person needs some better friends. How is that any different from sharing a picture with someone and having them email/im/text/facebook the link to other people? Don't share shit with "friends" only share it with friends. I thought the purpose of circles was so that you could have a circle of trustworthy friends, and a circle of people you don't fully trust (people you play online games with, clan members, work friends, etc.)

This is a big issue. Hopefully Google fixes it (this is an invite only beta right now so stuff like this isn't really all that surprising). Stuff like this will stop me from using Google+ in a heart beat though when I get an invite or it goes public.

They just need a posting option that does not allow friends to share the media.
Nobody's truly trustworthy, not even in your family. There's always a rotten egg or three.
You'd think Google would have a team assigned to watching Facebook's every loopholes, every flaw, every feature, and make sure they don't repeat their mistakes.

Like i tell my wife all of the time, If you are worried about certain people reading your status' ....then don't post stuff people don't need to know.
They have that option already. The crux of the problem from this articles point of view is that it is not that way by default and there is no way to make not sharing a default for all the media you post, you have to change it for everything you post.
And to be totally frank once you've shared a piece of media with someone, if they can view it on their computer there is nothing preventing them from copying and posting it to anywhere they want. What we really need is some common sense and personal responsibility. Don't post things you don't want made public. Simple as that.
But how would you "fix" this? You can't prevent people from copying digital files, just ask the MPAA and RIAA, they have been trying to years. Google could remove that feature, but then theres nothing stopping the untrustworthy person from downloading the file and then re-sharing it, or even taking a screenshot and sharing that.
We need Google+/Facebook/social networking sites to all require HDCP equipped systems that disallow any kind of non-approved sharing! In fact, we need this to apply to the internet completely, so we can't share anything, and hyperlinks should also be made illegal, because it just aids in piracy anyways! /solved
(In case it isn't clear, this is complete sarcasm, but the fact that people think removing the "share" button actually prevents sharing just shows how clueless people seem to be about how the internet/computers/the world works.)

I'm going to go against the tide here. There are a lot of clueless people in the world (and on the Internet), and some will just click the "share" button without really thinking about whether it is appropriate to reshare the item or not. Removing the "share" button will eliminate 99% of the inappropriate resharing by these clueless people. Sure they could share it some other way, but by definition they are too stupid to figure out how or are just too lazy.

People need to stop considering everything that breathes as a "friend" who needs to know your every move.
I agree there's no perfect solution but regardless it shouldn't be this simple to violate. Taking screen shots isn't a widely known skill. Clicking the share button is.

This is not a privacy flaw, you can disable resharing if you don't want a post to be reshared.
Is it just me, or could someone just download the picture and re-share it anywhere on the web anyway. Who even cares if they can re-share within their circles. This is like Anthony Weiner thinking a pic he sent to someone by e-mail couldn't be shared with the rest of the world.

Guys... I'm on Google+ and this isn't really an issue. There's an option to disable resharing already. The only thing I might suggest is forcing someone to choose Enable/Disable each time they post something. I believe it is enabled by default, but there may be an option to change that I have barely had time to check out Google+
