Will you need to have people to work with to play this game well or can you just as easily run around by yourself?
I believe the devs said you can either solo or group up.
I'm guessing high levels/raid equivalents would need grouping though.

Yeeeah....I dunno, he's talking about how great it looks but the video isn't really giving me that impression. A lot of blurry/muddy looking textures abound.
Does it look like what Ubisoft originally hyped it up to be? Don't think so.
This last week I have seen more of The Division then I have for years. I am more hyped for it now then ever before. I would say its living up to its hype and more. GFX don't make a game good.
GFX don't make a game good.
Well then maybe Ubisoft should stop trying to use fake graphics as a selling point![]()
it's not a selling point...
anybody that is looking at early E3 videos and such is savvy enough to follow development all the way through and have seen the recent gameplay videos and screenshots...
so they know what they are getting and no one thinks that the early videos are representative of actual gameplay (except the graphics downgrade people who can't let it go)
Of course its a selling point, otherwise Ubisoft would go to the trouble of doctoring up footage that isn't going to be representative of the final product
a trailer from years ago is not a selling point for any half way sane gamer who is still interested in the game...
If you don't understand the psychology behind marketing then there is no point in having this discussion with you because in your mind Ubisoft or any other publisher will always be vindicated in the end. No doubt you will be using the same lame excuse when it turns out that the Wildlands reveal trailer is also a load of bullshit.
I think you're the one that needs a lesson in the psychology behind marketing as you clearly don't understand how marketing works...getting people interested in your product is the first rule of Marketing 101
...tons of consumer products go through revisions and changes from when they are first shown to their retail release...
movie trailers show scenes that sometimes don't make it into the final cut...Nvidia showed off a dummy product to show off new tech...early demos are just prototypes...
you clearly don't understand game development either...or maybe you do and just like to focus on certain aspects to feed your desire to stoke the fires of controversy
Seriously my brain just exploded from how inane and incomparable these analogies are.
Of course what you et al fail to acknowledge is that this controversy is repeatedly concerned with Ubisoft games whilst most of the other AAA publishers like EA, 2K and Bethesda are happy to release trailers more accurately portraying the final product.
There is footage in the Star Wars Episode 8 Trailer that isn't even in the final movie.
It's a perfect example. polonyc2 is right.
Unity received no downgrades. And people still bitch about it. It's just typical Ubisoft hate. People did the same shit with EA years ago.
No, the problem is you and your ilk bending over backwards to make excuses for this shit hole company. We saw the same bullshit previously where the Watch Dogs devs were literally caught categorically LYING about the graphics months before release, and yet the apologists still feebly defended poor old Ubisoft. Of course what you et al fail to acknowledge is that this controversy is repeatedly concerned with Ubisoft games whilst most of the other AAA publishers like EA, 2K and Bethesda are happy to release trailers more accurately portraying the final product.
No, it was just broken as fuck, so broken that Ubisoft issued an apology, cancelled the season pass and gave away free games.![]()
also as I've said before, something cannot technically be downgraded if it was never released to the public to begin with...early game footage is a prototype...game development is a complicated process which takes years from when it is first shown to the public to retail release...it can go through many changes during this time...people with technical backgrounds know this
And now for something completely different!...
I may have missed it, but have they mentioned anything further about the ability to have a user with a tablet, be able to run support drones? Was this idea killed or perhaps for future expansion? I remember the early demo video showing it...
a trailer from years ago is not a selling point for any half way sane gamer who is still interested in the game...
Bullshit. Even I saw that game and wanted to get a next generation console. I remember seeing the footage and thinking "wow, I underestimated next gen consoles. Maybe I will pick one up". If I was almost sold from those videos alone, there has to be thousands who saw the video and now have an xbone wondering where those graphics are now.
Honestly if someone wants to make a purchase based on a video, knowing the game wont be out for awhile that is the gamble they have to live with.
They should know where that video came from and the risks involved.
It was a Video from Ubisoft, a publishers that is known to under deliver 90% of the time. Where a gem like Farcry 3 is few and far between. They have been destroying franchises left and right, or watering down experiences to cater to console users or the hardware involved.
You have to look at their presentation videos in full skeptic mode until the game is out and playable.
Same goes for something like Star Citizen, don't throw more money at something than you are willing to throw away.
The thing is though.. we are talking about average consumers. The 99% of buyers who don't browse internet forums and discuss the technical details of video gaming. You have to keep in mind that most people who buy next gen consoles think that whatever system they get is the pinnacle of gaming at the time. They watch tv commercials, see videos posted on facebook, and make know that their friends are going to buy the same thing too.
New The Division PC screenshots have been uploaded online, and the visuals show how the game looks like maxed out in 1080P with HBAO+...while the newly published screenshots dont include effects such as Lens Flares, Vignetting, Chromatic Aberration, and Post FXAA, they do show Nvidias HBAO+ (ambient occlusion) tech in action a feature that was missing in the visuals that leaked earlier...

looks good to me. is it too late for lazy asses like myself to sign up for the beta?
I was expecting them to actually send a key based on the note that it has at the bottom of that.
But they don't actually send a key, they just activate the beta on your uplay account and auto added it to your games tab.
I checked it today and its preloading
yeah they didn't phrase it right...you do need a beta key but once you enter it at the beta sign-up site you're ready to go...

Still looks pretty meh to me, I have to say...those textures do not look good for the most part
