People sensitive to glutamate need to watch what they eat. It sucks. I'm sure you're better informed about the foods high in glutamate than I. I'm one of those fortunate people who can eat everything, and do.

For most of us MSG is just a flavor enhancer. It blocks the bitter taste ion channels in our tongues, and kind of like salt, make food taste more like itself. It has developed an unearned bad rap that isn't backed up by science.

Do the leftover yeasts in beer mess with you?

I travel for work a lot, which means that more than twenty weeks a year I live off road food, so when I'm home I cook as much as I can. I don't have to, I just like food that tastes like it's food. I also like that I can take a grocery store top sirloin and make it better than a $50 steakhouse steak.
