Fallout 76 is being teased by Bethesda this morning. Little is being said, but it looks to be a huge DLC for Fallout 4 to us, which we are sure many people will welcome. More details at E3. Thanks cageymaru.

Check out the video.

See more during this year’s Bethesda E3 Showcase happening on June 10th at 6:30pm PT in Los Angeles, CA or live on YouTube.com/BethesdaSoftworks or Twitch.TV/Bethesda.

I don't necessarily want a large DLC. There's nothing wrong with the engine, but pretty much DLC = way shorter than a new game. I'd rather see a spinoff a la New Vegas.

Vault 76 aka Cheyenne Mountain?? Gonna go meet and blast the president, who happens to actually be Atom. It'll be a long trek from the NE to Wyoming.

I really want an expansion for the game. It really just didn't feel "finished" as far as the story goes. Choose your faction, kill the others, become the leader, GO. Just didn't quite do it for me. I feel there is more to tell/do. Like, wtf didn't the Institute build a time machine or something and prevent it? A final mission that would take you a good 30-40 hours more gameplay sourcing mats, theory books, etc... to attempt to prevent the nukes from falling.

I know Bethesda games are widely decried by many, but dammit, I love them. I love exploring big ol worlds, fiddling around, and eventually modding the everloving F out of it and playing something that barely resembles the original for another 5 years.

We get a new Fallout after just 3 years, but close to 7 years on we haven't yet even heard about a new Elder Scrolls? I think Bethesda need to get their priorities straight...

Lots of speculation that this game is not going to be the single player RPG experience we're used to. Here's hoping they're wrong.

The only thing keeping me from being hyped about this game is that the final slide shows Bethesda Game Studios, but not Obsidian. I'll likely buy it regardless, but New Vegas was incredible, and to see Obsidian have a chance to make a new Fallout would be awesome.

I believe they consider Elder Scrolls Online as that offering. I don't feel the same, but I do suspect that factors in their thinking.

A big criticism of FO4 is people wanted another Far Harbor sized DLC, that the game had been "abandoned too early". So if they deliver a big DLC they're addressing a common complaint.

If they issued a remaster of FO3 then people will just scream "shitty Bethesda milking it again, they're just milquing it bro".

Fickle gamers will bitch no matter what Bethesda does, but another offshoot game by a third party ala New Vegas would also be fantastic.

"When the fighting has stopped, and the fallout has settled..."

Fallout 76 - the newest game from Bethesda Game Studios. See more at the #BE3Showcase – June 10th @ 6:30pm PT

Me too. I actually don't care much for the stories in these types of games anymore. I love the exploration and upgrading aspects more. And of course the modding as well. :geek:

10 bucks says it's going to be a multilayer battle royal like PUBG & Fortnite.
Nah. That idea would crash and burn unless Bethesda is just looking for a quick cash grab (like some of their horrible DLCs).

My guess is something like Rust, where you build a settlement with other players. Hence the rebuild comments. Also makes sense taking place in the earliest timeline we have seen in FO so far.

Huh, what happened to Fallouts 5 through 75?

It seems to me that by naming it Fallout 76 instead of Fallout 5, Bethesda is clearly breaking from the history of the series and going in an entirely new direction. I suspect Fallout 4 will be the last of the single player, vault dweller journeying RPGs the old fans have come to know.

My prediction is some kind of online, multiplayer game or battle royale type game. Of course I could be wrong and Bethesda could be making another classic Fallout. I doubt that will happen but we'll see.

Seems like someone mentioned this on 4chan back in December. More recent posts say it's a multiplayer survival/base building game like Rust mixed with MOBA mechanics.

4chan isn't all memes and porn. A lot of good stuff is often leaked there.

If this is true, RIP Fallout. Your Sellout tombstone will be placed right next to Skyrim's Dead Horse Beating one.

I really hope this is not true... 4chan is full of anonymous people speaking the truth and anonymous people making crap up, and there's no real way to verify it one way or the other.

According to Steam I have over 7300 hours playing Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas and Fallout 4, and I owned Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas as DVD copies before I bought them on Steam.

I want to believe.

I want Bethesda to take my money.

Apparently the studio that was working on BattleCry is behind this one. They're now known as Bethesda Austin as of March this year. The news doesn't get any better...

Its Fallout Shelter 3D. That's my guess. ;)

this was my first thought that it will be some kind of 3d Fallout/RTS hybrid thing...maybe like Battlezone 2??

As long as it isn't some MP based thing I will probably be ok assuming it doesn't require me to grind for "Stuff" to rebuild whatever.

EDIT:
On never mind, didn't see the Kotaku thing. F that I guess. I hate MP games for the most part and I don't care really for survival things.

If that actually happens, I'm going to compose a strongly worded tweet to Bethesda >:|

Elsewhere i have heard that this is essentially a free to play online multiplayer RPG game based around loot boxes and microtransactions on Creation Club.

I hope this is wrong.

That being said, I wonder if this franchise is done now. They need to reinvent or it's going to be way to repetitive to play through another.

Eh, if its a builder / Sims type of game like Fallout Shelter was, then I'm not interested.

Pragmatic Brain Says: "New" Game. Because if it's an Expansion, it would fall under the season pass, so less money.

I mean, I have the season pass, so I'd be 110% up for a new expansion, but.... I doubt it.
