What kind of lowlife would follow the Taliban on Twitter? What if they ended up "following" you? Not to mention clicking "+follow" probably puts you on a government watch list. Besides, wouldn't you rather be following these guys instead?

But in the latest sign of the hardline movement's rapprochement with at least some areas of the modern world, the Taliban have embraced microblogging.

s'aight. As Mike Myers says in 'Inglorious Basterds', " all our rotten eggs in one basket". Then we go thermo-fuckin-nuclear on em. No? Kay. Then we just capture and prosecute em one after another... No? Then we just dump their bodies in the ocean. Yep.

Add yourself so you can be aware of any unusual activity, if they start talking about the weather then worry.

I can imagine all the little Taliban Osama wannabes tweeting about stupid shit and getting caught left and right. Idiots.

What?! They have really funny new jokes every Jihad Friday! ...much better than Dane Cook.

I'm torn between wanting to follow them to see what kind of shit they post and wanting to remain off any FBI watchlists.

so no good to have twitter, well don't know how it works but glad i don't have an account.

I wonder what the Taliban's reaction is to this!

LMFAO!

From article:
The pornography recovered in bin Laden's compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan, consists of modern, electronically recorded video and is fairly extensive, according to the officials, who discussed the discovery with Reuters on condition of anonymity.

True or not, obvious propaganda is obvious.

Well, I think the twitter feeds will be very short lived. Particularly after the "boom."

Too bad though, when they find the 72 virgins are their fellow bombers...

i hope them Taliban die, a slow painful death, for killing our U.S Boy's, Using kids as Bomb's, What kind of Sick Person think's of that? We need to just send like 100,000 troops over there and just end this. show them no mercy, just like they do to us. and out U.S Soldier's

Anybody who's intelligent enough to read between the lines of what they're saying might also find interesting what it says about their inner workings.

I'm very glad to see that you've awoken from your 10 year coma!

I have been saying that since the war started, because all we are doing is draging it out and spending billions and billions, we need to stand up to the goverment and tell them we want to spend more troops and we want change we are tired of them dragging the war out, and making us poorer

Sorry, just thought that perfectly described what we did 10 years ago...send 100k troops over to take out the Taliban. Well, Al Qaeda, of which there is less than a handful left supposedly. And now we're fighting the Taliban, apparently.

Not quite sure how 100,000 more troops, at the stated figure of $1 million per year per combat soldier, will save us money. Or where exactly we are going to find those soldiers with the armed forces being as stretched thin as they are.

How will the US find more troops draft, how, how draft, what did they ever do in WWI, WWII, and Vietnam draft to get so many troops did I mention drafting?

That option is straight out the window.

People aren't even willing to pay taxes to fund the wars...you think they'll actually want to FIGHT in them? Ha.

Yeah...funny thing: It's easy to play armchair quarterback if you're not personally on the front lines and involved in the fight.

I'm ex-airborne infantry and still maintain close ties with many of those from my old company (now involved in everything from private contracting to special operations). The consensus is that no amount of military might can "win" this battle. Actually "sending 100,000 troops over there and just end this" would be THE biggest waste of taxpayer money at the moment. Sorry, this isn't WWII. ...no matter how much the White House press wants to push that idea.

This twitter story is just a recent example of how important it is to win the hearts and minds of many of those (in the middle east) who only see the US as faceless giant, launching missle from UAVs and invading their homeland.

I'd prefer one big bomb

I never was one to say things like this, and TBH usually thought the whole "Turn it to glass!" crowd was functionally retarded.

But looking at Pakistan right now and the shit going on over there...it's very tempting.

It's just one giant clusterfuck of a war, even back home in Britain we thought it was pointless, you can't fight terrorism through conventional means.

He's dead, their funding is all but dried up, the only thing they have going for them is local support, as Pakistan has proved.

Yeah, because Talibans and Al-Qaeda have killed so many americans..oh, wait?! 9/11 investigation is a big POS all together, and everything related to it its exactly the same.

As it is, Osama was trained by the US and the Bush family is closely tied to the Osama family. Now, go figure how the heck some "unexperienced pilots that couldn't even fly a damn small airplante" got to do so much damage...

...errrmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm no, they didn't.

Thats what they are, always bringing war around the globe. One day they are allies and the next one they are enemies. All together its funny: Osama was a friend when the US was figthing the URSS...and for the last decade they have been looking after him. Now, they claim him dead and they don't even have a picture. HAHAHAHAHA. Yeah, right. Keep trying, I'm still laughing about the ton of shit some people eat as their daily meal, seriously.

Osama dead? Its funny Obama announces Osama is dead yet nobody cares about "we have no proof about it". Yeah, keep swalolling the shit they tell you, you will get reaaaaaaaaaaaly far, no doubt :rolleyes::rolleyes:

These Tabilan assholes need to GTFO all together, I have no respect for anybody who follows or support terrorism, hope the FBI shuts down their internet operation altogether.

Now they are butthurt that their faggot of a leader Osama Bin Laden is dead, +1 to the US, they fucked with the wrong people and now they are paying the price.

Obama's confidence rating has been dwindling and Osama's death was just what he needed to improve it.I still want to see the evidence.I am loosing faith in our governments ability to tell the truth about anything not that I believe much of what the government says anyway. The outrageous money that is spent trying to fight battles on so many fronts is ridiculous especiall with fuel prices. The terrorists must be dealt with in a more efficient manner.

I think the porn story is BS, who really cares anyway?

As fo the Taliban - When u attack it's because you want to DIE

Yeah, it's like the "war on drugs" and everything else. ...but you have to look at it from a bigger picture. Were they just looking to start a "war" or were they looking at the economics of it. There's tons of money involved anytime a campaign like this is waged. ...there are asset seizures, new jobs, increase in defense spending and all kinds of other motivations.

From what little I know of UK law, that seems to be the biggest difference. ...a lot of US policy is based on boosting money flow.

Anyways, from what my friend told me about his experience in Afghanistan, most of the guys doing the fighting weren't locals. The locals were mostly just caught in the middle of a bad situation. Basically, they were just supporting their perceived "home team". Our goal is to make 'em think we're the home team. The problem is that most of them aren't logical or educated folk.

Paraphrasing a famous quote: “Nothing is permanent except change itself” pretty much describes the new Taliban. Everything is constantly evolving including how the Taliban are now conducting their business. It wasn’t that long ago that all electronic devices were outlawed as the devil’s work, but that no longer applies. Twitter, internet videos, text messages and email is now the standard stock in trade.

When they ruled Afghanistan between 1996 and 2001, almost all electronic products were outlawed as un-Islamic. Photographs of living things were illegal, and ownership of a video player could lead to a public lashing.

So why do they hate America again, when we created a lot of the "tools" they are using?

gonna guess that this is over Osama's extensive foot porn collection, and digital watch, and video recorder to make videos, and the targeting systems on their anti-vehicle rpgs, and...
