System restore points on a Windows Vista machine are getting up to 20GB on a 900GB disk. Is there a way to limit how many restore points are available at a time or am I left to deleting them manually?

I have a list of scheduled checkpoint restores for each day my system runs, is there a way to disable or change scheduled checkpoints? I don't see an entry in the task scheduler and don't see the option under system properties > system protection.

So far I've been using CCleaner to monitor and delete unnecessary ones.

Thanks.

I do it the same way.. just ever week or so I use CCleaner to delete all the restore points. Amazing how many are created in a short period of time. This is from one of my laptops using Vista..

2/4/2012 - Windows Update
2/4/2012 - Scheduled Checkpoint
2/3/2012 - Windows Update
2/3/2012 - Scheduled Checkpoint
2/2/2012 - Windows Update
2/2/2012 - Scheduled Checkpoint
2/1/2012 - Windows Update
1/31/2012 - Windows Update

Deleting all but the one CCleaner doesn't allow you to delete gave me back 9GB. Can change the Vista system restore space usage following instructions here.. http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/76227-system-restore-disk-space.html?filter[11]=Backup%20Restore
