Symantec Calls Antivirus 'Doomed'

Can you spare some links to these leaderboards? I'm interested to see.

The bad perception has still continued to follow it to the point where it remains off the table in enterprise environments. Mention Symantec or Norton and watch an entire room of IT executives laugh you out the door. Even those goobers know the proper buzzwords.

Please!! tell our IT guy this, he still has it installed on most of our systems. It slows down our equipment so much it isn't even funny, even the PCs that never attach to the internet.

A few years ago we got hit with the one that puts the -=Porn Files=- directory in every directory on your computer and Norton's didn't even slow it down lol.

The DoD fortunately does not represent the real world. Horrible admins and good ol' boy politics are what is representative of the DoD IT world. There's no other way Symantec gets shortlisted.

Having a U.S. based HQ is what hits with DOD. I had to drop Acronis because it's all Russian.

Honestly, all this is saying for me is that they can't compete anymore because of there reputation so now they are turning doom sayers on everyone else.

Symantec ought to sell them selves to the NSA, or buy out virus writers to keep their software useful.
