swappable cd-keys?

my sister was wanting to reformat her hard drive but she can't seem to find the envelope her copy of xp home came in.

will it work if i give her my cd key even though its xp pro?

xp pro keys won't work on hp home, she'll have to find the envelope, or look on the case - most oems put a sticker on it.

That or something like RockXP. Cool thing with Rock xp is that you can backup the activation from the machine so when you reload you don't need to activate. Can't remember if magicalkellybean can do that. One thing I will say is that most of these programs will set off norton and the likes as a hacking tool. Don't worry about it.
