I'm trying to install SuSE 9.0 on a Duron 600 system. It has a Chaintech KT133A based mainboard and an nVidia Geforce 4 MX.

The problem is that from the moment that it loads the setup program (after it displays the pretty welcome-screen) it appears to use a resolution or refresh-rate that the monitor (a Philips 104S 14" CRT, 800x600@?Hz max) doesn't support. I can still somewhat navigate my way through the setup program, but it's pretty much impossible to read anything, let alone figure out which is the real mouse pointer =/

Is there any way I can use a lower resolution/refreshrate?

So I figured out what the F2 button does before the setup program starts :)

ah yes, this got me too. i could never understand why they went with such a hi-res default for the set-up.

Thing is, on the other systems I've installed SuSE 9.0 on in the past few weeks it automatically went with 800x600, probably because of the unimpressive onboard video of those systems.

While searching with Google, I noticed that this is a common issue, though, which made me feel somewhat less stupid :)
