Does anyone have experience or know if the LSI 2308 controller on the Supermicro X10SL7-F is compatible with a SAS expander such as this:

Seems like it would be an awful waste of a LSI 2308 (1000 device capability) and such bandwidth (8x PCIe 3.0) if you cannot expand it because they chose to put SATA style ports on the board rather than 2 mini-SAS ports.
