Sun to back Ubuntu

I saw an article linked from Digg this morning, and if true could be interesting.

When reading it, I couldn't help but think of a Sun related article from yesterday.

Maybe something dramatically cool could come from this, or maybe just a better way to install JavaVM on Debian based distros. Maybe nothing? Anyone here have any thoughts on the subject?

Every other big company has a pet linux distro these days, why not Sun?

A lot of good things can come from big companies backing open source software. Between IBM, Novell, Sun, and Redhat, you would almost get the impression that linux is great for the professional world... then you just have to remember to read the Microsoft truth campaign and be put back in your place.

I don't think anything 'dramatically cool' is going to come from this, no... it is good publicity though. Can Ubuntu get any more popular?
